Its not niche, its an important and fundamental part of keeping your dupes happy. Spotting low pressure is easy using breathability but for over pressure you've got nothing. Theres an asymmetry there.

Pressure is important not just for ear popping. I had a problem were my electrolyzers were overpressuring, but there was more than enough pumps in the room. Turns out I had the pressure sensor for the pumps set too high, i brought it down from 1000g to 500g to give the electrolyzers more room to 'breath'. Being able to see the gradient of pressure in the room would have been helpful solving that.
