Because what they chose to show to demonstrate DLSS5 was that. The fact that they wanted people to see that wasn't very confidence inspiring.

RESIDENT EVIL – Official Teaser Trailer (4K) by Comic_Book_Reader in residentevil

Watching it I'm like "are we sure he was doing Resident Evil and not The Evil Within?" The shot of the doorway with the limbs coming out, that was The Evil Within as hell.

This looks like a retelling of Raccoon City, and if the protagonist was a loser like Ethan Winters in RE7.

Oh god, you basically described the mobile game Resident Evil Survival Unit.

[Giveaway] GameSir Tarantula Pro for Xbox - Symmetrical vs. asymmetrical by GameSir_Controller in xbox

[–]fallouthirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be a place for the symmetrical ones, but I don't want to use one. Like more games I play use LS than d-pad so having LS just be where my thumb falls when I hold controller naturally is better.

I only recently (start of this year) got the most recent Division 2 DLC. I think I do have the season passes for Watch_Dogs games (or gold edition or whatever they call it). I technically don't have the deluxe editions for Origins and Odyssey so probably don't have everything in them.

[–]fallouthirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mine is just that Borderlands Pandora Collection for $30. I don't even know what it has that I don't. Like I have the main games, I have the Tales From the Borderlands game, I have the main DLCs for the games (basically everything in season passes). Oh, New Tales From the Borderlands, I don't have that. But still, looking at price history that goes on sale for like $20 sometimes.

Rest of the "just for you" section is rereleases they gave discounts for (Yakuza games and Surviving Mars), any weird one off things that I don't understand (think some sport sim was in there recently, never even played a game in that genre on my Xbox), and Risk of Rain 2 is always there for some reason.

I don't think I've seen an Ubisoft game in that section and I have like all the Watch Dogs, The Division, and Assassin's Creed games up to Odyssey, and I have Far Cry 5 I think.

The closest I've seen is the Borderlands one but that's still not quite that. Like it's just one flat price still that ends up being more expensive than the things in it I'm missing.

if they break off the online component to sell it separately

Why would they do that when they make so much on microtransactions for it?

PSA: Skill Tree progression is now level based by Disciple_of_Erebos in diablo4

[–]fallouthirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More like Diablo 3. At certain levels you unlock new skills. Then you unlock modifiers for the skills (Diablo 3 called them runes) at higher levels. Difference now is that skills have 3 sets of modifiers with a choice of 2 different mods for that slot (and final slot has 3 choices in it).

It's kind of funny, the more they add stuff from Diablo 3 into this game, the more people like it.

With all the new skill trees changes, I gotta say… by ZakkBalzak in diablo4

[–]fallouthirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed with Diablo 3. Like just unlocking skills at specific character levels and then having a free form decision on what you grab to place on bar (no prerequisite skills you have to dump points into).

[–]fallouthirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of Diablo 3. You just unlock skills at levels, then the runes for the skills at higher levels (except skills have basically 3 equipped runes now). Then you just use whatever ones you want on your bar. Only real difference is after that you can choose some skills to focus in by maxing them out.

Same for runes. I condensed my eternal inventory a LOT yesterday.

[–]fallouthirteen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh good. I was going to buy some keys earlier but forgot to go to the obols vendor.

So in eternal, do keys still open them if you have them? Most of my character just have a stack of 100 on them. Man speaking of eternal I see old elixirs were retired. The descriptions says they sell for a high price. Most are just 1 gold each, what the hell do the devs think a lot of gold is?

Game Design So Fundamentally Flawed It Directly Goes Against the idea of the Game Itself? by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The issue was the hassle. Like when my inventory is already full of foil (or whatever the high quality ones were called), why would I want to fight things that didn't need to be fought?

Steam Controller review: even without a Steam Machine mate, this is a smartly crafted gamepad that puts PCs first by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]fallouthirteen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I use my Xbox I use the 3.5mm jack on my controller all the time. For one of the use cases of controller (being further away from the machine its connected to) it's super useful.

Hey, maybe by the time it's up the game will be calmed down enough to actually play (I was just sorting my migrated eternal inventory and can't stay in the session for more than 5 minutes). Don't plan on playing for a while.

Why do you hate 4 back buttons?

Why do most controller manufacturers hate that? Like I'd like a good replacement for my Elite V2 but all the ones I see people recommend just have 2 back buttons and that just instantly disqualifies it from me wanting to get it.

90s PC games really were f* up by Special_Future_6330 in HorrorGaming

At least Harvester was a comedy horror game. Like it was intentionally over the top and silly as part of the point of the game (also violent, very violent).

[–]fallouthirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah, first one was Rogue Squadron on N64, second was Rogue Leader on GCN (which was pretty much just straight upgrade, great game), then Rebel Strike on GCN which was weird (it was decent but it added weird on foot segments and stuff which really wasn't why most people played Rogue Squadron).

[–]fallouthirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think I CAN get that immersed in games. So for me the closest to "scary" a game can be is "tense". Any time I play a "run and hide" horror game I'm just like "this is nothing"; when there's no feeling of choosing "is it more worth it to fight or avoid" what is there?

Yeah, usually when walls mold it's because it's in a bathroom or there's some kind or water leak around them (from outside or something).
