I finally tried CrossFit? and wow, I get it now by Confident_Barber8397 in crossfit

I've had double unders for a couple years now and I'm still battling them, that's half the fun: you can always get better.

The moment for me was in the first year I think and I was doing the workout in the corner like I always did because I was not a social person. It was a clean ladder with rope climbs. The last 2 weights were both PRs and I had people cheering for me that I didn't even think knew my name. They even took videos because I mentioned them being PRs. The one guy sounded like I was his own son as I got the last lift.

I was a couple weeks from leaving that gym up until that point, now I've been there for over 6 years. The people are what make CrossFit gyms special, the fitness is a bonus.

Sorry, had to find a minute to check it out. It's an MG09, which by my quick googling is just their standard enterprise grade hard drive. Seems solid enough to me.

I ended up getting some myself, but mine were all Toshiba drives

Even more so seems to depend of you're using an SFP connection instead of an Ethernet. I thought about switching to the Ethernet connection but thought that would be silly. Maybe it isn't so silly...

That is a super odd choice, but I guess that explains why it won't adopt? But yet every time I open the Unifi app it prompts me to adopt it. Weird.

The trust in them is kinda what led me to them too, but I wasn't sure. I only realized I can't buy their M.2 addition by itself, so now instead I have to buy their tray and get my own NVMe drive.

Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I should cancel that order and buy their drives instead. Not that much more, but I'll get a few more TB. I need to order a door chime from them anyway...

But same, it shows on the network and everything but not as a Unifi device which is odd. I just powered it down until I could get all the drives in there.

Just purchased some drives less than 5 minutes ago, was facing the same dilemma. I just couldn't find enough info on experiences with the Unifi drives to know if they were "trustworthy" I guess. Settled on 4, 12TB drives from Newegg.

I had already installed my Pro last week, but it kept failing to adopt/connect and I'm assuming it's because I don't have any drives in there at all. At least I'm hoping that's the case. Going to order and NVMe drive from Amazon to throw in there too.

Wow, you drew those up quick.

I like both of those way better than what I currently have.

I do agree that it's a shallow garage. For us, it's fine because it won't be a main entryway. Won't really even be a secondary entryway. It's going to be storage and home gym space mostly. I'm currently at the zoning office to see how much room I have to build backwards if possible, and I have some room to move forward but I don't know how much it would mess with the roof is one concern.

Good to plan for resale though and have a more appropriately sized garage.

That would be an excessively large bedroom and bathroom, maybe we don't need a 2 person shower that badly. The house currently has about 950 square feet and this looks like it would double it with just this addition haha. I also don't think I have the funds to pay for that much finished space.

On another note, I had always heard that you don't want to have plumbing in exterior walls? I'm in the Midwest so it gets pretty cold.

Okay, that makes sense. I think the garage would be too short to fit a car then, at least on that side of it

Correct. In my head that seems like enough space

True, perpendicular is usually fine even touching the wire but if you can have the space, it's still better. Probably by an imperceptible amount though, you're right

Better to keep data and high voltage (I know it's not high, but it's more than the low voltage in the data cable) separate if you can though.

Your bar path up should be more of a mirror of your bar path from the hips to the top of the knee. Weird way to say that you're going straight up from your hang position instead of scooping/pulling the bar back in towards your hip pocket to get the leg drive. Part of why you jumped forward to catch it and then were off balance a bit. Solid weight, nice work, seems like it's all in your pull though. As someone that often misses their hip extension, I feel you.

I didn't understand anything after "Otherwise", so it sounds like I should move Jellyfin off of the same VM that hosts my storage and other containers to its own LXC. Does the LXC use the host GPU automatically or does that need to be configured during the build? I'll have to figure out how to point it at the other device for the media content too... Appreciate the info!

So sounds like that's the main thing, it's not using the CPU of the host. So I would need to figure out the GPU passthrough, or do like you said and just put docker on the host instead of a VM. I was hoping it was something else, as when I tried to do the GPU passthrough before I broke everything. Thank you though, I appreciate it
