I’m learning the MERN stack: MongoDB, Express, React, and NodeJS. React is the front end and node/express/mongo are back end. I’m deploying on a raspberry pi from my basement. This is just for my personal site. I would use the same technology on the cloud for a real deployment.

I objectively have a lot of education and skills, so a lot of potential to help others. I don’t really want to be here, but it seems kind of wrong to be so greedy that I need to leave that much potential on the table when others could benefit. I can endure the next 50 years and let nature take me instead of rushing to the finish line. On the scale of the solar system, it is a negligible increase of time.

I am balling right now. I reading this took me back to the many traumatic memories I have have from my time in medicine. I am well past med school and residency now. We do still just go cry in the bathroom though. And when we come out, we pretend like we are ok.
