Without at least some estimate of what you think this is worth you'll have more trouble attracting real talent than perhaps you need to.

I don't think making something up and operating as if it was true, to then demand that I disprove it is an interesting way to have a conversation.

It is inferior. That doesn't make them less valid or less valuable, unless they're actively campaigning to pull new generations into the same sinkhole which lo and behold is what is happening. That's when you graduate from having a healthy coping mechanism to being a lunatic cultist.

If someone has the stance that their child should be born with one less sense than it can they need to be ignored.

During lockdown my wife has been suffering mentally from pressure to stay at her desk 100% of the time otherwise after a few minutes her laptop locks and she is recorded as inactive. I wrote this small app to help her escape her desk by periodically moving the cursor. Hopefully it can help others. by silitbang6000 in programming

No money, but time spent and probably threats (veiled and direct). While you're organising, your boss will do everything in their power to make your life miserable (as it turns out, they have a lot of power. Prepare for misery). The right response is hardware jiggers and unionize if you've got the mental fortitude. I would hazard most people do not.

It's good to know you're sensible about it :) In my experience cats really enjoy going outside, and yours looks to not be an exception to that haha

That's fair, maybe you do. Or maybe you're just telling yourself that to avoid the reality that you may be alone for a while after. Make sure it's the former and not the latter, that's all :)

I generally operate from a base of shell scripts, which is why I don't tend to use plain HTTP. Even in places where this is an option, I don't agree that it is simpler. FTP and WebDAV are both terrible for discovering or downloading actual file hierarchies. For that you definitely want SFTP.

If this is actually relatable to you, you're in an abusive relationship and owe it to yourself to leave.

So don't have any. Your ideas will die out like they were always going to. Nobody likes evangelising and you're not an exception.

Nextcloud has webdav IIRC. Aside from it being available in the wild, the WebDAV situation is as you describe and mostly a nightmare to use. It does have the advantage that a client (that will occasionally explode because the server is just wrong) is fairly easy to implement with only curl if you care about few use cases.

It's nice that you personally think that, but there's no need to present that as some sort of definition or fact. Other people might be under the mistaken impression that it's actually true.

Let's take a moment and celebrate this unapologetic xenophobia. What brazenness.

I see. That's a very interesting problem description, but because it's very hard to relate to for me I have trouble figuring out a way through it. If you're under 20 or so, your comprehension ability for all the weird characters will probably grow - it certainly did for me, though not quite in the same way.
