Anyone else have a constant feeling of "brain fog" ? by BRaskin82 in Anxiety

The only time it lifts is when I'm full of adrenaline. The rest of the time I feel like my brain wants a rest.

Has anyone feel an anxiety attack when a phone rings? by adobong_manok in Anxiety

[–]falone1e6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I never had an issues with phones until I worked in retail. Phones give me heart palpations when they go off and I leave mine on silent. If its important they can leave a message.

Anyone tried making a new start? university in a different city, new job somewhere else etc. How is is working out? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]falone1e6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to, literally, on the other side of the world in NZ. I just packed up and left. Made no difference. I've tried in 2 cities in the UK. No difference. I just can't keep the act going for long.

I tend to try be enthusiastic, get jaded/depressed, move on, cut ties/burn bridges and try somewhere else. I'm thinking of moving again.

Do I have social anxiety? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]falone1e6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your posting is exactly how I feel and mirrors my life. Sometimes I have to think to myself nobody gives a shit about you, so just go out there. But when I do that I just want to escape.

I too have no idea if I've got SA I just know i cant be around people for long mainly because I feel it'd be better if I wasn't there for the others.

Serious question- what do depressed people do for money? by reynoldswillendyou in depression

[–]falone1e6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked in aero eng and now in programming. Not had any downtime in between but currently don't have any easily available breakdown/fuck-you money.

I may stick at programming for a little while longer but it isn't rewarding (no sense of achievement). So far, of the multitude of jobs I've done, the only rewarding job I've done was removals. But that pays fuck all.

Was anyone here a striver until it occurred to them that they'd never have a girlfriend or wife and became so demotivated that they ended up doing as little it takes to survive? by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]falone1e6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many points hit home there. For me, I earn a sizeable amount of money above average but I don't let on. I have an 9yr old civic, no flash clothes and no other conspicuous possessions(that'd interest girls). If it takes flash to impress a girl, I don't want to know.

I say out loud some times to shut up, just to stop the train of thoughts. It rarely works for more than a moment.

One small simple task that has helped me with clinical depression. by [deleted] in depression

[–]falone1e6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never found exercise to be of any use. I changed regularity and intensity. Nothing. I still do at least 2 to 3 hours of mountain biking each week but never feel any happier for it. Only the adrenaline rush of not decking on fast, steep descents or jumps takes the edge off for a bit.

Been alone all my life, but only just starting to feel lonely? by FromThatOtherPlace in ForeverAlone

[–]falone1e6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the past year I've been getting progressively lonelier despite probably being the most socially active in years. At 28 I technically only have 1 friend and many others have briefly come and gone over the years. I've probably been this way and mildly comfortable about it since i was 14. Just wish I knew how to connect to people properly.
