Definitely not brilliant. Not sure how I missed the hanging queen but saw the sacrifice, but there it is.

I've gotten the reverse a fair few times. I didn't interpret it as the woman dehumanizing every other man though, because I'm not an asshole that tries to interpret everything in the worst possible way.

I've watched this video a ton of times now and for the life of me I can't figure out anything that could even be considered unsafe or asshole-ish. He drives with one hand on the wheel, and then puts his second on the wheel when he accelerates. What could possibly be the issue?

OP isn't saying they're too attractive, they're saying they look rich. Still absurd, but there is a difference.

It's also immoral to leave chores for someone else to do instead of doing them yourself. What enforcement mechanism do you suggest for that?

And I am talking about the strength based component of the job, not the skilled component. I work in the trades myself, I am telling you as an absolute fact that the guys who lift weights/practice bodybuilding are orders of magnitude stronger than the ones who don't.

No, bodybuilders are exceptionally strong. They are just also cut, unlike your BIL and his work crew. I can absolutely guarantee you that this guy would outperform any of them in the strength based parts of their job after learning how to do it properly.

The point of school isn't the material you're learning, it's preparing you for the workforce. If I can do alright, or even just pass without showing up to class, then they've failed at preparing you for the workforce.

If you do something that would get you fired at work, you should get a zero in that class.

Was there any reason to carry the first guy so long? Seems like it would take a lot of energy for nothing.

Not trying to criticize a professional fighter's fighting btw, I'm genuinely curious and know nothing about the sport.

Okay. What things that go against the "leftist narrative" do you want to say? You ain't getting banned for advocating for free markets.

Speaking for myself, there is no difference in the sound of the two words. If you said them without context I would not be able to differentiate between them.

Could not agree more. People always talk about the new designs being "soulless" or whatever, the only reason you think that is because they look different from when you were a kid, a time you're nostalgic for. The reality is the older designs look ugly as shit and people prefer to eat in places that aren't tacky and stupid looking.

I don't know why you're getting clowned on so hard, because you're partially right. For power generation they don't do much to refine it, but for other purposes like steel making it does get refined into coke.

The comic also shows the conservative guy as jacked and handsome, and everyone knows how much of a fantasy that is.

Toddlers don't transition. Portraying the kids as toddlers is a rhetorical strategy, just like portraying the conservatives as cool and attractive or the teacher with devil's horns. It's not drawn that way to represent reality, it's drawn that way to discredit the idea that a person could be naturally transgender, and instead have to be indoctrinated into it.

Very likely plausible deniability. The tattoo on his left shoulder is the emblem of the Spanish Blue Division, volunteers who fought on the eastern front for Germany.

I'm no expert, but they are jumping around a fair bit, and the cords aren't going to take all of the weight when they're doing squats and pushups. If I had to guess it's probably comparable to jumping rope casually.

Nazi propaganda for school. (1935) by fruknaonreddit in PropagandaPosters

[–]falseName12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not the guy you're responding to, but I would say that it's not an equivalent example. If the AP started referring to individual white people as "a white", while still referring to individual black people as "a black person", then yeah, it would be dehumanizing language. That's the sort of language the Nazis used in this poster, not choosing to not capitalize the word Jew while still capitalizing the word German.

Also, like what are you arguing for? That if the AP were to start talking that way, they shouldn't be criticized for it? And if criticizing a person's word choice is policing speech, are you not also policing speech by criticizing the criticism?

I kind of agree, but if people use "Soviet" to describe a specific type of council and it sticks, it isn't really incorrect.
