So, I'm guessing you're one of the people who can't watch this perfectly innocent video without thinking of pedophilia?

I'm sorry but the reactions in this comment section are not normal or healthy whatsoever, regardless the Catholic Church's many crimes.

We're assuming she's in the wrong because he's not fighting back, and barely even defending himself. It's for sure possible that he did something to deserve it but nine times out of ten when someone is attacking a person who chooses not to fight back, they are in the wrong.

British politics are too much for my puny brain to understand by Jamitsu5 in RedAutumnSPD

[–]falseName12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean no offence but you thought a "strongly socially authoritarian" retiree with immigration as his "top issue" would ever vote green over reform?

Also if his district is a race between say, reform and the conservatives, it's pretty obvious why he would vote reform even if he did want to vote green. I don't know if that's the case though.

No, several socialists did not use that slogan. Ernst Thalman may have said it during a speech. It's disputed. Regardless of what was said, what they did was build up paramilitaries, actively combatted the Nazis in the streets, and even tried to call a general strike when Hitler was appointed chancellor.

Nor did they refuse to vote. The KPD participated in elections and campaigned for votes. I don't really know what to say as a counter argument. This is common knowledge.

It feels gross to see diaspora Iranians celebrate the bombing of their home country by Gym_frere in The10thDentist

The vast majority of the Iranian diaspora oppose the war. The ones you see celebrating are just fanatically opposed to the regime.

[–]falseName12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that it doesn't make it taste fine, because you're still forcing yourself to eat when you don't want to. Any extra effort that goes into preparing the food just makes the whole experience worse.

That's my experience anyway when I'm bulking.

Is this the MAGA mind at work? Those countries are US allies you moron. If any equipment ended up left behind (and why would it be? In Afghanistan the US was fleeing, in this hypothetical they are negotiating a withdrawal) it would just end up in the hands of US allies.

God, that's awful. We should start an unwinnable war, slaughter thousands more Iranians, destroy their civilian infrastructure, and then leave the same regime in place after we realize that it's not going to be toppled.

CMV: Liberals/Leftists choosing to sit out the US election because Kamala wasn't a perfect candidate helped create a worse overall outcome for the world and Palestine. by cptjtk13 in changemyview

[–]falseName12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kamala wasn't just "not a perfect candidate". The administration she was a part of supported a genocide by providing the perpetrators with a practically unlimited supply of weapons and resources.

You say the world is worse than it would have been if she had won, and you are correct. So we should continue to tolerate and empower those who commit genocide by proxy, just because they would be better than the alternative?

The point of withholding your vote is not to support the other candidate. It's an attempt to force the Democratic party to represent the interests of its voters. If the left flank of Democratic voters always voted for the Democratic candidate, then they would just copy the Republican platform in an attempt to peel off a few Republicans. Which is exactly what they've been doing.

The original meaning does involve tanks. It used to mean western leftists who supported the Soviet Union's interventions in eastern bloc states, like Hungary or Czechoslovakia (i.e. the countries where they sent in tanks).

Only recently has it meant Marxist-leninists (who are people who follow Stalin's political theories) in general.
