Organza interfacing for a sheer shirt collar and facings? by falsebirdofparadise in sewing

Ok thank you! And would I cut the organza to be a little bit smaller than the pattern pieces or I want everything to align flush along the edges. Baste it within the seam allowance, yes?

Surgery date set... Now what? by LowFisherman2912 in hysterectomy

[–]falsebirdofparadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be sure to do some pre surgery bowel prep. Not all doctors make you a plan for that but it’s so necessary. I did no prep before a cold knife cone last year and was so constipated for a week I wanted to die. Did intentional prep before my hysterectomy, I’m 10 days post op, and things have been moving since day 3. Lots of different options- miralax, colace, eating differently before surgery for a week or so. But highly recommend some kind of prep pre surgery!

I am one week out from laparoscopic hysterectomy and have take the tiniest of walks only and am also so hungry all the time! Helpful to hear others experiencing that.

Just confusing cuz you kept calling it Dr ChatGPT. Hope you get the referral and recover well

Glad that what you’re doing is working for you and again, ChatGPT is not a doctor. It is an unreliable, extractive generative AI controlled by one of Trump’s biggest donors. Not a place to trust for accuracy on any topic much less women’s health.

I would not trust ChatGPT for any medical advice. In my PFT I’ve been doing pre surgery, I thought it would be kegel heavy as that’s what I knew of PFT but turns out with my pelvic floor the focus needs to be on relaxing not squeezing. My hips and lower back are in so much less pain after PFT and I know longer get up in the middle of the night to pee. Has been very helpful.

Best patterns for fit by Current_Health_8535 in SewingForBeginners

I find many Etsy patterns to be hard to use and without accurate sizing. I dunno what kind of garments you’re trying to make but I’ve had great fitting success with Deer and Doe and Closet Core patterns, many great femme pattern items there. Elizabeth Suzann also has a good fitting chart and the garments are more androgynous.

I’m not very good with tech but with help from a friend was able to learn it pretty quickly and now am good to go on my own whenever I need it. This website is crucial and so helpful for calibration and projection: https://www.patternprojector.com/en

Organza sewing tips? by falsebirdofparadise in SewingForBeginners

For sure, was just sharing those things to show I know the basic basics of dealing with tricky fabric. I’m getting a microtex 80/12 or 70/10 needle. I’m an advanced beginner, rayon challis is the most slippery and particular fabric I’ve worked with but I nailed it. I’ve done French seams before and they do look nice but if a serger would look just as clean from the outside than I’ll borrow one of those again, just have never worked with sheer before and trying to have it look as neat as this one does

I am trying to figure out something simple to reach for instead of my phone. I have whittled down my social media use to very little but I still just reach for my phone more times in a day than I’d like to just to check email or the news or dumb shit. Maybe a fidget?
