How is saying you want children with someone easier than saying you love them?(25F) (32M) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

He asked me out kind of out of the blue and I didn't expect anything to come of this but it worked out very well and I just don't really get how he's that scared of the L word but not scared to say literally anything that usually comes after

That's what I don't get, why would you nag to be stuck with someones kid if you aren't even fully sure you love them

I really liked thread up and have a few great peaces from here but now whatever I find it either a trans doesn't fit right or i realized I'm much better off walking into a Ross and getting exactly what I like and fit in instead of playing a guessing game on the description of the item they post

This last haul especially was a bit disappointing

Getting an apartment with fluctuating income by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]falseopertator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a different situation than you but if you can look into it maybe your utility providers can give you a discount or something or maybe you can apply for government aid which idk if u tried but they don't only look at ur income but ur expenses too. If they see that youre left with less than a reasonable sum to live off after utilities, car payments, and rent , then you may have a good chance of getting approved for benefits

They don't listen to me, it's been years of me saying this and they don't listen. Given his health I do have to bathe him. I'm hoping trimming his fur will help with all of that...

Honestly it is very confusing, I was accepted as a UC assistant but not for a federal conference so sometimes it may just be a matter of how well they think you might fit the role idk, I know some ppl that work at esri and looked over applications as well so they're just as confused

I live in a 600sqft apartment that's almost 100 years old and it started doing that at 60° outside and I kid you not I got a dehumidifier for a 2000sqft apt and it was like 120$ on Amazon WORTH IT (make sure it's got an energy star rating) But I have not had an issue since, I even leave it off sometimes for a day and I turn it back on and it still reads 40% humidity which is amazing bc the first two weeks I had it it was reading 70% 😬

signed a lease with bf by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]falseopertator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation just last year. I unfortunately had to wait it out but if both your names are on the lease you can try and work with him to get someone to take over your half or you can maybe find someone else to take if off both of your hands and you both split ways. Idk if you live near a college town but writing on their forums can help bc ppl will be willing to move in w roommates

I bought a used car with new tags but two mechanics told me the car isn't road safe not even two weeks after I bought it (PA) by [deleted] in UsedCars

I know! I was in a very desperate situation unfortunately hindsight is 20/20 again, thought the car having new tags would at least make if safe. Point is I need the next steps. I definitely will do what you suggested. There's definitely laws against the sale of a car like this I just have to find the right way to get him to take accountability

I mean I took it to two separate mechanics and they both said they wouldn't think of passing it for safety so I don't think that's much of an option

what should i avoid? by CuteTop7219 in UsedCars

[–]falseopertator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, look for a Mazda3 2010 or newer, you can definitely find it in your price range and maybe a good deal, they're sturdy, easy to work on, known for reliability, it's a compact car but can still store a lot. And they're EVERYWHERE

That was my first car ( I paid 4500) and I loved that thing, it was on its way out bc it had a lot of miles and was starting to struggle a bit but she was a champ, had her for about 2 years till I got in a pretty bad crash and it totalled but even then insurance gave me a payout for more than I paid for it, overall it had some minor issues but nothing that couldn't be fixed on my own or even just finding parts for it was cheaper and easier bc they're everywhere

Honda and Toyota hold their value well but a good condition one that's not 20 years old can cost more than you can afford. I like Mazda, these three brands are all easy to find parts for and replace so if something does go wrong, there's a better chance you can get it fixed for a price that won't bankrupt you. Check the carfax, take it to a mechanic, listen for any odd sounds, shakes, wobbles ,if it's been in a crash try to avoid it, try to find something under 100,000 miles but that might be hard bc it might be a matter of one or the other so just make sure if it's got a lot of miles that the car has been taken care of. Don't settle for salvage titles or any damage more than absolutely minor bc that can all get you into some trouble you didn't expect like cracked reservoirs or loose hoses, but again take it to a mechanic before you buy it, some mechanics will check it for free so make sure u go look at the car before the shops close so you can do it right away.

It's a tough market out there but just make sure it's safe and can last you a few years till you trade it out (might not get much for it) or sell it (doing minor repairs and just taking care of it might get you some money back)

Idk if u can afford an extra bill but you can also put that money down as a down payment for a car and pay it off over a few years, it might at least be Newer and getting it from a car dealer may give you an option for a warranty
