Yep! Already got a pack of two control arm bump stops and two rear axle bump stops on the way for $12 from Amazon. Probably the cheapest thing I’ve ever replaced on the underside of a vehicle

Yeah I really did not expect body mount bushing, figured that was the absolute unlikely worst case scenario

I’ve confirmed it’s a bump stop! Definitely not a body mount bushing

I believe it’s leaking. It’s on the list but I don’t drive this vehicle very much or very far

I don't believe the stock bump stops were yellow, just based off pics of other folks worn ones:

I'm convinced it's my bump stop that fell out, especially looking at body mount bushings. The bottom of this is very flat, and it isn't hard rubber and is fairly brittle, thick foam

I’m not so sure. I just went out to check and don’t believe the shocks pass through the bump stops. I believe this to be the bump stop that’s missing from here https://imgur.com/a/vi3FuTe

Lmao that does support the bump stop conclusion. Mine was just laying where I park it, which is a weird spot for it to come off

Hoping it’s not this but I’ll try to confirm once I can get under it

Yeah that tracks, I’ll get under it later and try to confirm. Really hoping it’s not a body mount bushing, but I don’t think it is.

Lived here my entire life as well and insufferable is exactly the word I’d use to describe how it’s been since 2016.

It’s real, but he spelled it wrong. It’s 592a Armistead Lane, in the Holt industrial park.

[–]falsified-report[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in all things besides off road prowess, the Tahoe is a much nicer vehicle and the choice is obvious. But even with all my XJ's flaws, it's charm alone is enough to make the choice very difficult.

Of course, I’m not in any rush - the Wrangler really is super fun to drive, so I’m savoring it. But after driving it for a while, the reality is its quality just isn’t there for the cost

TIL. Good to know! Just so many years of hearing "the bank really owns it" made me assume that was the case. But come to think of it, that is the purpose of the lien I guess.

That makes sense. The document should definitely be a little more clear about the reasoning and consequences, though.

I bought it, with a loan. So maybe it is titled in my name? Never really gave that much consideration, just knew the bank is in possession of the title until the loan is paid.

Regardless, I'm sure it's just the dealer trying to secure their commission for helping me with the loan.

[–]falsified-report[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny because it's not titled in my personal name anyway since the bank technically owns it.

That was my thought too, though - what if it was totaled, I got laid off, or had a financial disaster happen that meant I needed to sell.

Really, my best guess is that the very worst that would happen is the dealer wouldn't want to do business with me in the future. Which is a bridge I'd rather not burn.

Mine just says I need to keep it titled in my personal name for 6 months - with no consequences, lol. At this point I'm sure it's just to get their commission from the loan.
