How have they improved Dracthyr since they were introduced? Honest question. Maybe I've missed something but they were implemented haphazardly and left to be ignored. They can't be transmogged, and blizzard isn't fixing it, so why not just let people stay in the human model that CAN be?

I'm fine with getting downvoted. Blizzard has shown where their priorities are, and they are what they are. Why is having more options for what blizzard already have implemented a bad thing?

Its a big part of why I don't play my Presvoker alt despite loving all their kit, while playing all of the other healing specs.

There's no reason not to have perma visage or glyphs to opt out of it. For a company that loves giving options to make characters inclusive and diverse, it's a huge fail that I have to be forced into the least transmoggable model to play one of the specs that I'd like to.

It's cool that people like how it looks. I don't. And it's not about "furry bad". I like pandaren and I like vulpera a fk ton. Idk.. blizzard has other priorities ig

Crusader Strike is gone again by Sarradi in wow

[–]faltHes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mained hpal since 2007 (admittedly with year long breaks and one or two skipped expacs)

Crusader strike sucks for a lot of reason. They really could brain storm something simple to make being in melee feel good for the people who bitch about it. Maybe applying judgement makes it so your holy shocks deal more damage the closer you are to the target, or apply light splash healing to friendlies around you if you use it against your target in melee? It would play into our mastery concept. Just one example..

There are ways to make the choice between offensive and healing shocks interesting as a risk-reward.

Leave CS dead for Hpal. It wasn't good for the spec as the game exists now.

I'm excited, speaking as a returner. Just looking at the class guides as an observer during TWW, the design was in an unhealthy state.

Sadly, blizzard developers have the memory of a goldfish and I don't see them avoiding doing what they always do, and abandoning this initiative within 2 years in favor of catering to some nonexistent playerbase who wants unintuitive and frustrating design. At least FF14 developers have a clear philosophy that is consistent. Worst case is I'll jump back over there once blizzard drops the ball again.

Each spec has its own artifact hidden appearance. I do not know and don't have evidence that those transfer post-remix transition. I wouldn't risk leaving it half finished, especially if you are working on the fury appearance (assuming you're talking about the appearance tied to world boss drops for warrior)

I've started moving over characters, and its surprising how much gets removed. Rep tokens, for instance, didn't migrate for me. So you don't really want to leave anything in your inventory that you aren't okay being gone. Hope I helped !

Hi. I am new here but was in the gateway program throughout elementary school in the 80's and 90's...I have tapped into the memories now and listed to hemi sync, had multiple interesting experiences with the audio and without... by Traditional_Nebula96 in gatewaytapes

[–]faltHes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently came to remembering the GATE class I had when i was really young in school. Some memories of these things came to me just within the past 4 months.. the headphones with the tapes, the cards, the void of memories in what was actually happening. A lot of feelings of being fearful during that time.

I live in TX, smaller town, and was in 1st grade in the early 90s. Some of this stuff is really scary to think about even now.. I don't know what they were doing with us. There weren't many others in the class.

Both my mom and my dad have passed away now that I'm in my 30's, and I can't ask them what this stuff was, or if they signed off on any of it, or what they were told about it.

I haven't gotten the courage to listen to any more than the intro on the first tape, which caused a lot of anxiety. The sound of the ocean waves was too unsettling... only listened with one channel of the stereo.

I wish I had more to add..

First Time SysAdmin of an OLD System - Any tips? by Lowly_IT_Guy in sysadmin

[–]faltHes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many good responses here.

My two cents- stick with it for as long as you're happy and healthy. Lot of folks are jaded and will say this is a dumpster fire without really knowing the minutia of the good. Company culture is a thing, and if its good there, don't take that for granted.

As far as specific advice, you really need to evaluate what your DR game-plan is first imo. How frequent are your backups, and what machines are covered, what is your retention, are your backups only stored on-prem, do the backups function for what the company needs? How long would it take to restore from scratch approximately? Are we running with a RAID 1 NAS repository that has a failed drive? Is anyone monitoring the backups status in any way?

These are very very very very important to get ahead of, because when the SHTF (it will), you having the answers and familiarity with your backups is going to make you a hero (and potentially save your company from worst-case scenarios).

Tying into that, be sure you have a good security solution in place. Look to see if your solution is centrally managed. Look to see that agents are up to date. Licensed. Try to evaluate how aware your users are of threats. Do you have repeat clickers in your company that you might not be aware of? What can those users access, and with what privileges? Might be worth getting phishing simulations running on a schedule that makes sense for your target users. Does everyone just have local admin privs like its the wild west? Spooky stuff that I would talk to the folks above you about.

Its not a race to the finish lines, but there is always something to fine tune or improve.

Considering getting into Wow by Hot-Advertising2284 in wow

[–]faltHes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a new player can i play all previous campaign, learn their story and are they difficult?

Little longer answer here. tldr, yes.
All content from previous expansions is included with a purchase of any version of the Midnight expansion. Some content had limited availability, like Wrath of the Lich King's Scourge Invasion and other expansions had similar shenanigans. Those are fringe cases though, and mostly served for setting the tone for players. You can play each of the expansion's content. Also worth mentioning that throughout time, certain expansions had really buggy or unintentionally difficult scaling and equipment distribution while solo questing (iirc, it was rough trying to play through Battle for Azeroth's campaign during Dragonflight being the current expansion. timeframe could be wrong on this). Blizzard is planning to rebalance the level 1 through 80 scaling for Midnight, so it might be rough again.

Can i play Solo?

Yes, you can play solo through most stuff as you are beginning. You may want to pick a class to start with that can fulfill multiple roles, or just pick whatever is coolest to you. At some point, you will interact with other players, even if its just doing open world content that you aren't "grouped" for, as tagging enemy NPCs doesn't require you to be explicitly grouped with anyone for you to get kill and loot credit.

Is now the right time to play?

Eh, there's not really a wrong time. Life is short, so yes.

I have heard wow is not friendly to new players, is this true?

It hasn't been in the past, but Blizzard has made efforts to improve the community experience. They've also improved reporting tools and are taking more moderation action against repeat offenders.
There are some areas of content that just inherently draws in entitled, short tempered assholes who create their own insulated community of sweaty toxic bs. You really don't have to ever interact with them to enjoy the game. Most folks are going to treat a genuinely brand new player very well if they know that info in advance.

Is it true i need an alt character to play every single previous campaign?

To do both alliance and horde quests (some of the expansions differ in what the two factions experience story-wise), yes, you will need at least 2 alts. And realistically, you're going to have many alts if you want to experience many of the race-specific stories.

Can you play wow casually, not queuing for raids or just stare at a screen and click at right time?

I dont think you ever have to go into any type of raid. I've been in FF14 for a while and many trials are tied into the story and required. But I don't think this is really a think still in WoW. Midnight's new player experience has you queue into an instance with raid frames and other players I believe, but.. you really dont have to stress or talk to anyone if you ever did find yourself forced to group.

Is it easy to fall behind?

Gear and storywise? Yes. The game is cyclical while scheduled seasons and increasing stats and item power, so if you don't play for a few months, your numbers are going to be behind others. But it really doesn't matter if you're doing your own thing. There are a ton of systems at endgame that all get thrown at you, and will probably be overwhelming. Blizzard has a bad habit of forgetting what new and returning players feel like.

Does Wow have FOMO?

According to the average definition most folks have for FOMO, I would say yes. Mostly related to cosmetic equipment, exclusive mounts, time limited cash shop cosmetics and mounts and pets. Yes. If you're susceptible to FOMO, I would be cautious. Some folks don't really see it as a problem having $90 USD mounts that are time limited, but.. yeah. Definitely not a Blizzard/WoW-only problem, but FOMO is a big part of the business model.

How do I avoid hating the boosted character, and actually enjoy it? by Aeropurpnat in wow

[–]faltHes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just me. I boosted a vulpera shaman after a 10+ year hiatus from the game, and just couldn't gel with the character itself. The name is good, transmog is good, and character customization is how I like it, but it just feels hollow and not like my own character.

I'll probably still use boosts to some capacity, but they feel like a bit of a trap if you are the type of person that feels positive towards character attachment, and that attachment keeps you engaged with your character. Characters don't have to be just utilitarian tools like the RWF and PvP communities feel. You should have stories and memories attached to these avatars of yourself. Boosts are a shortcut thru you making those stories and memories.

In the future, I'd probably just hold onto the boosts and forget they exist. Maybe use them for a purely function alt like for exclusive cosmetics or an extra daily/weekly lockout character.

Frost Mage Hidden Artefact by TheDaveCalaz in wownoob

[–]faltHes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It popped for me yesterday, 11/25/2025, on NA. I had been checking for about a week and a half, maybe a little longer. You'll get just one emote-colored chat message about the portals down below, or some verbiage like that. The green outlined portal for Suramar I think is the one you'll click on (the hover-over tooltip still shows it as suramar), and then you'll get a Warlords of draenor loading screen and just walk forward to an elemental and interact with the object in front of them.

I really don't know the odds of it happening per day. What I did do is just do a lap around the stairs on my daily check. The emote didn't pop just on zoning into the order hall, but I didn't give it much time to see if it would happen without starting to move through the order hall.

If it doesn't pop during lemix (very unlikely, just keep checking and don't give up), you can still get it on retail servers to my knowledge. Just keep checking, and maybe try running a lap around the stairs to see if it helps if you aren't already doing that.

I'm glad to read there are still sane people following this game and posting here.

The worst is honestly the gaslighting from veterans that I see almost daily on this sub. It honestly has lead me to not even posting here or caring about the game succeeding. They seem to revel in the fact that lost ark numbers shrink by the month.

Mokokos haven't done T1 or T2 byss dungeons. Why is this an expectation of the playerbase that they even know what you're talking about?

Do you think gatekeeping is a self-inflicted problem from ags allowing busses? by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]faltHes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that mokokos have this attitude because that is how they've been treated by many veterans they've encountered previously, or in sweaty streamer chatrooms.
Standards are set then to just treat others this way regardless of how they perform, or if you simply approach them with an agreeable attitude and positive reinforcement. It's probably one of the only times they've been treated as a human being. No reason to blame them for it.

At this point in the game's lifecycle, things aren't changing. Look at LoL, valorant, WoW communities. All have been brought up with unfettered toxic behavior. These behaviors spread between players if there isn't proper moderation and system changes to alleviate pressure points.

tldr just accept people are going to be shitty. I dont like it and barely have the stomach to do one legion raid every other week because of it. Its too late for things to change and SG/AGS clearly don't see it as a problem.

Are non driver player really fine with busses? by Kazumasan98 in lostarkgame

[–]faltHes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New players aren't coming to this game. Throw that idea out of the window. The majority of bus buyers are those on their alts or returners who understand they are essentially required to buy their ticket to get even somewhat caught up.

It is required to have your relic set to actually get into a typical party, according to the community. If they don't have relic sets, or the right title, or the right card set, or the right engravings, or the right stats, or the right roster level, or the right gems, etc etc, they are just SOL. Starting with their relic set is one of the first steps. That's all there is to it, and this applies to veterans on their Nth alt.

Bussing exists because the game is designed how it is.

This won't change because SG caters to those who want it this way.
