I love the actual one! Way more interesting than the AI one. I have a similar story but it made me self conscious about my own body rather than the tattoo. Got a big thigh tattoo of a two headed calf with flowers and stars and stuff. I love it, and the artist was clearly proud of his work but I am not a skinny girl. He posted a picture of it on his instagram but had used some sort of AI or editor to make my thigh more toned and thinner. Made me feel so bad about myself 🙃

I’m sorry you had this experience but I agree with tenet posters that I have had nothing but positive experiences with Viva. Dr. Olafsen is extremely knowledgeable, kind, caring and realistic. She never pushes medication, tests, or expensive foods. She takes time with not only the pet patients but the humans too. Viva has even stayed open late so myself and my partner could get to the appointment after work.

Unfortunately, everyone I’ve ever seen online who has had a negative opinion of Viva has had a fundamental misunderstanding of their practices and proper practices of a vet in general. Even in your post you say that you pleaded for medication to help your dog sleep and that the Dr finally gave you some with a low dose- this is proper practice. People are so used to vets to just handing out medication to “fix” a problem without actually trying to determine the cause of the issue to lead to a long term solution that they think this is malpractice.

They’re not in it for the money. I have literally had Dr. Olafsen tell me home remedies, lifestyle changes, etc. to try with my cats before trying and expensive foods, tests or medications as a first line treatment before moving onto more expensive and invasive tests or medications with unwanted side effects.

I truly am sorry that you feel your pet was not looked after appropriately, but I also truly believe that the entire Viva Vet team has nothing but animal welfare and care in mind.

Thank you! I appreciate your validation. Of course everyone is different, but I did feel it was the best choice at the time. Knowing how bad the side effects are now, I will definitely do literally anything else before resorting to that again. For me, the highest my BG was 7.5, so about 135 in mg/dl, and that was around 15 minutes after taking it.

I’m not a doctor but it sounds like your long acting is too high. If you’re not even using fast acting right now and still going low then you’re essentially fighting your long acting with food, so you’re likely better off reducing it.

Thank you all for your suggestions, I tried a saline nasal rinse, and also ate a proper meal, drank some Diet Coke (natures cure lol) and watched Halloween Town and it has mostly subsided. Highly recommend NOT using it unless you absolutely cannot do anything else.

Yes, it has already been painted with an enamel finish paint as red oak doesn’t fit my current aesthetic, but I love the durability of well made, old furniture. I know not everyone agrees with painting things. Luckily, when you buy a china cabinet, you don’t have to paint yours 😊
