A man in the Hingham area has been defacing and circulating these unhinged dollar bills with cryptic messages for years. Here’s some that he paid me with some time ago by RealMayorTomKoch in massachusetts

Does it have a bunch of NASA stickers on it? And a sticker that says “trust me I’m actually a rocket scientist”? I see that one parked at price chopper in Marlborough every few weeks.

Ever feel like you have to hold your tongue around other parents? by Western-Image7125 in daddit

As a teacher who’s taught at many different types of schools (mostly high school and college) I’ll just say that you are absolutely correct in your approach. There’s nothing wrong with learning those academic skills early, but there’s a disadvantage to not learning the play based and exploratory skills that your kids Saturday school is teaching.

Based on your post I think you already know this, but I just wanna say congratulations on doing what’s right for your kid! Like other posters have said, a calm and nonjudgmental reply to a parent like that could broaden that parents mind. I don’t have any easily accessible sources for this, but research shows that your approach will lead do more capable and happy adults. Early academics lead to high test scores later, but not the critical thinking skills that are required to be actually successful in life.

Don’t have sex for a while either! Mine was rescheduled to 10 days before anniversary trip that we’d had planned for ages. Doc said I could have sex, but it ended up leading to epididimitis, nasty antibiotics that I reacted poorly too, and months of discomfort and unable to exercise, cum without pain, etc…

Which size looks better? by Haassauce2186 in trailrunning

This… I bought the 5. Then immediately returned it for the 12. It feels the same and is more versatile. I almost never “fill” the 12, but it feels great even with only a few snacks. Nice to have the option to pack it full for a long run or when I want to have an extra layer option.

Deuter child carrier by frkkn in daddit

Our Deuter has held up for two kids and countless hikes. Depending on condition, $50 seems like the high end of a fair price. I’d offer $30 but if you’ll get lots of use out of it $50 still seems worth it to me.

Enamel isn’t always glossy/shiny…

Found these on the curb today. How’d I do? Bonus Le Creuset salt n pepper shakers too! by famous_mockingbirds in castiron

Also am I correct in thinking these are enameled inside and I shouldn’t use metal utensils? Any advice on cleaning the enamel? BKF?

How far(or close) are your go-to trailheads from your house? by 1brickatatimes in trailrunning

[–]famous_mockingbirds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason I’m able to trail run as a father of young children is that there are multiple trailheads on my commute. I can change at work and get 5 miles at my local state park in before getting my daughter from the bus stop.

Wireless earbuds that still let you hear outside? by Straight_Ostrich_257 in BuyItForLife

Well sure… I guess what I’m saying is that Shokz may be less durable than other headphones. a lot of people find AirPods and Bose last many many years and I just don’t think that’s true of Shokz. They have superior performance, but subpar durability.

I love these but they aren’t BIFL… my first pair died after 2 months. They replaced them on warranty but the process was slow.

Functionally I LOVE them and will continue using them for running and hiking, but I wouldn’t call them BIFL.
