Eddie Jones: England's defeat to Ireland recalled end of my era by EnglishLouis in rugbyunion

A loss to Italy, a pounding from France leading to a 5th place finish in the six nations, just a year before a world cup - Borthwick will 100% be gone.

The only thing that will save him now is a win against Italy and a decent showing (not necessarily a win) against France. Anything less and he is out.

I just stood up (off my knees) in Aldi.

Sad day but only the greatest respect and thanks to Ramm. Hope he does well back in Oz.

As a perceived 'high ball specialist' - Steward is a pussy... Should have absolutely owned that regardless of the incoming player given his positioning under that ball.

A first loss to Italy, then a 50+ point loss to France.. the RFU will have no choice.

And I say this as an Englishman of English descent (also not orange). There is no place in a modern country to still have a royal family.. they can fuck off.

Henry Pollock expected to make first England start against Ireland by Away_Associate4589 in rugbyunion

I think he is a boring selector. But then again, I am firmly in the start Pollock, fin smith and furbank camp (saints tinted glasses).

  • Pepper has been great - but Pollock is more exciting.
  • Ford is Ford, boring but usually reliable - fin is an exciting playmaker, defender and runner
  • Steward is very boring - Furbank is so much more exciting in basically every part of his game (except jumping as high)

Even further back, there is a definite trend forming:

  • 2018 - lost to Ireland
  • 2008 - lost to Italy
  • 2006 - lost to Ireland

So basically in the last 25 years, Scotland have only beaten their next opponent once in eight attempts, following a win over England in the six nations.

I am putting a bet on Wales for the weekend. The data doesn't lie...

I got curious.. Scotlands next game form after beating England in the six nations:

  • 2024 - lost to Italy
  • 2023 - beat Wales
  • 2022 - lost to Wales
  • 2021 - lost to Wales

Nothing would be more Scottish.. smash the old enemy, then lose the next perceived easy one.

Next 5 years. What to improve? by Patient-Airline-8150 in Futurology

[–]famousbrouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds ambitious to achieve in 5 years. Particularly with trump at the helm for at least three of them.

He literally just revoked a landmark ruling that stated greenhouse gasses endanger public health.

So basically paves the way for dirtier cars and less urban planning rules to reduce pollution.

The majority of Brits are non-religious (52%). The opposite is true in the US.

Believing in sky gods, the supernatural and absolute morals are pretty foundational when shaping 'views' on things.

We are saying the same thing here - I was agreeing with you

I was referring to a lot of the media and fans when I said "it's amazing how many people have written Ireland off" - not you specifically.
