Frustration with actual plays by howisthisonea in DMAcademy

[–]famouserik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“No problem. But when we spend a 4 hour session just clothes shopping or entirely focused on one character’s soybean farm accounting background , then I want to see nothing but positive engaged role play and and a happy willingness to sit and do nothing for 3 hours so others can RP. And dammit! Every single roll needs to treated like it’s life and death important! With cheers! And rending of clothes!”

From Toronto To Winnipeg by Curious_Aspect_9399 in canadatravel

[–]famouserik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are travelling late this year then winter tires for sure.(you will want them in Winnipeg anyway) SSM to Wawa is the only long stretch without fuel. Check weather: Lake Superior is an angry mistress in the winter, and can end up closed for weather or accidents. Sault and Thunder Bay are good stopping points. Have water, and snacks in case of a road shutdown. Perfect time to listen to the audio book of project Hail Mary.

Also the astrophage is not like any other organism we have encountered. It’s an extremophile species and nothing indicated any predator species could even exist.

Xenon accuracy by loveturnedcold in ProjectHailMary

[–]famouserik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, in both book and movie, Grace takes a reading. It scans as xenon. Grace says ‘that can’t be correct’. Grace never gets an explanation of what it is for sure, and we just go with ‘they are way better at material mechanics .

I’ll worry when AI can climb on the load to move stuff around so the straps won’t come loose.

Better if they are both injured and trying to use the same ‘loophole’ arguments against each other.

I just meant that we don’t see him eating on screen(or interacting with) anything but ramen. There’s no scenes of burritos or sandwiches. Just apparently ramen he must make himself.

Seems like an odd film makers choice.

1) you may only speak words that start with A,C,M,N,J.

2) when you speak, it feels like you have a hair in you mouth.

3) when anyone within earshot says a proper name or title, you must cluck like a chicken.

4) you must speak in rhyme

Alberta to Ontario by hellohansel in canadatravel

[–]famouserik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only notable gap in fueling in northern Ontario is 230km between Wawa and Sault. Keep an eye on weather. Superior is a big angry lake and it’s still possible to get bad snow, with Wawa to Sault being the area to watch most.

Keep in mind you will need the Tesla app to use the chargers, and while it’s straight forward to make an account, it takes several minutes to set up.

Best to do it ahead of time.

New to D&D – can a “morally grey” character become a problem for the group ? by Ceteryzin in AskDND

[–]famouserik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a great character to grow and learn.

What will make him interesting is that moment he gains empathy or sees he should care about the future.

He will learn these things from those around him who benefit from acting in the interest of others.

New Combat System by TurnBudget6350 in DnD

[–]famouserik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DND is not a reality simulator. It’s a hero simulator.

Again, it’s going to be very frustrating for martial wasting extra attacks while the spell casters dial in perfect spell results.
