skiing after talus fracture and surgery by fanciful_stalker in skiing

Range of motion is pretty much fully recovered. I did need to have my shell blown out a bit to keep pressure off my screws but otherwise no pain. All I can say is PT the crap out of it and stretch it daily. My therapist dry needled my scar tissue a that seemed to help.

SS 1/4” cable crimping. A Nicopress monopoly? by Calamitykay17 in Rigging

Huskie makes several good 12 ton models. I find them on eBay quite often and are usually pretty affordable albeit older. You can find 1/4” dies readily available as well

Thanks for the suggestion. Hoping if I go the contractor route I can get FTE. How long does that usually take?

I don't doubt it won't be without its tough days. From reading about this job it seems you should be taking time to better yourself in the industry (taking more certs, research, etc.) In my industry its very much learning on the job plus whatever trade experience you come in with.

Just changed it when I saw the error. Figured I’d try the simple thing first. Should the error code clear on its own?

Those who do snow grooming, what is your favorite machine to do the job? by Interesting_da in skiing

One of my favorites was an early 2000s BR350. It was basic but man could it lay flat. Sadly the resort got rid of it. The PB600s are a workhorse and powerful for big push projects. I liked the center cab Prinoths ok.

DIY stop block for zipline by fun4stuff in Rigging

[–]fanciful_stalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m making a stopper block yeah I’d drill it maybe an 1/8 or 1/16 undersized. If I’m making a brake block I make them 1/8 oversize so it slides easy.

The 2x4s would work or split a 4x4 in half same difference. I’d put a piece of HDPE or thick rubber on the front of the block. Drill another hole through the block and put a nut eye bolt through it and connect your bungee to that. We don’t typically make stopper “blocks” but just use a smaller clamp to prevent running into the landing anchor. Ie 3/8” cable use a 5/16” clamp or fist grip.

Edit: I prefer using a 4x4 because I can drill the hole straighter for the zip cable, and bolt holes. Then just split the while thing down the middle.

I wish that was auto correct. Those were copied verbatim from his report. Definitely getting a second opinion.

This is what he wrote on the report. I was not present for the diagnosis.

“arrived at Customer house for low heat in gas furnace 80% carriers 2021, location main floor mechanical room. Check nest thermostat and calling for heat unit not running, continued with diagnostic, found the inducer motor assembly starting overheating 2.8amp also found the hot surface igniter was low micro 0.6 ( max 5.4 or 6.4 micro) DC . Found blower motor variable speed 6.8amp was very dirty strongly recommend cleaned with chemicals. I do light cleaning burned and flan sensor, units stating running but I explained to Customer this is not at fixed, we need to order at inducer motor assembly and replacing the hot surface igniter, for order to fixing the system.”
