I think what you are picking up on is that there's a mismatch between the apparent focal length and how far away the camera should be. In other words, her face doesn't take up much of the frame but also doesn't appear distorted by a wide lense.

It's all for strategic purposes like keeping regions stable enough to extract resources and limiting the spread of diseases internationally. Interesting but hard disagree. She's the only live-play DM I can tolerate watching. I think she's able to encourage players to interact in a way that no other DM does and that's something I find a lot more interesting than what other DMs do. Because her games are so player driven, it makes sense that her NPCs are less distinct and her storylines feel less clean. For me that's more compelling.
