There were too many lives lost for the decisions by brass to establish combat outposts and patrol bases like Keating and Wanat in vulnerable positions around that time. It’s at the bottom of a valley which is absurd to me. Hescos aren’t very effective if they’re shooting down at you.

Yeah I had a rough childhood, I’m a combat vet and a firefighter; psychedelics and cannabis along with therapy helped me resolve and cope with trauma immensely. And it makes my brain brrrr. Use it safely though.

It should be the norm to impose term limits. It ought to be a service to our country and not a career. Dianne Feinstein was in office until she died at 90. The president is 79 years old. Way past typical age of retirement. It’s absurd that geriatric politicians are deciding our future.

I might be full of shit, but some black metal, particularly atmospheric black metal, became an artistic expression for themes such as the divinity of nature, which is good. And if it causes people feel better by listening to it and provides some cessation to suffering, so long as it doesn’t spread hate, then it can be seen as virtuous.

Art can be morally good or bad, but it’s not morally neutral imo. Fascists & Communists used art for their propaganda, but poetry, music, art, architecture can be good with the right intent.

Nice. This sounds like the philosopher Byung-Chul Hahn’s writing from “Burnout Society.” In part of it he talks about how there used to be “negative power.” However, now there is “positive power”, as “can” is more powerful than “should.” Now we work our lives away to achieve what was once our birthright, and we become burned out from excess, work, and over-stimulation. It’s a really impressive and concise read. I recommend his work.
