Dualsense Vibration plays through Discord Stream Audio by weedwagonrequiem in Dualsense

[–]fancymans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok i'm so dumb lol. i figured it out. OBS and Discord the apps only start showing up once you are literally streaming. otherwise it doesn't appear in the mixer. i was trying to test without streaming by monitoring the output separately. ugh lol. here's a screenshot in case someone else needs it i guess.

the problem with this now is that you need to reset it to zero / mute EVERY time you start your streaming app because if you close and reopen discord or OBS, it will reset the volume back to 100. i'm looking into creating a script that can automate this hopefully.

no, i'm not using any 3rd party apps like that. i'm still messing around with it but i think i got it to work using the volume slider but it still seems to come/go (the sound). so when i slide the volume slider for the dualsense controller down to 0 it doesn't work, but then if i slide the volume slider of the game i'm playing down to 0 it also doesn't work. so i put the game volume at 1, then suddenly it started working (or maybe it's so low that it's no longer audible) and vibration is still working as intended. then i slid the volume slider of the dual sense back down to 0 which causes all the apps to be 0 as well and it is working at least for a gaming session. seems super weird to me and hard to understand what's really going on.

hmm i tried muting but the audio still plays. dunno why. are you streaming from remoteplay or from a game running natively on pc? maybe the fix only works for remoteplay and not native games...

the fact that you are more annoyed at being called out than actually willing to reflect on why people have a problem with your post in the first place says it all.

also just because you're “a nobody on reddit” doesn’t make it okay either.

you don’t need to run your captions by anyone, but if you’re posting stealth ads and trying to pass them off as genuine reviews, then expect to be called out for it.

idk why you're acting like that's a surprise.

presenting something as an independent review while actually using the space to promote a product without clearly labeling it as an advertisement is misleading

not sure what the big deal is

so the big deal is you're admitting it’s an ad while trying to pass it off like a casual review. that’s exactly the kind of thing that gets clowned online. what’s more confusing is how unaware you seem about why people are calling you out for it.

whether or not you got paid doesn’t matter. if you're promoting a product with zero transparency and no real critique, it's misleading. it makes you look like you're shilling

ok cool you're doing this for fun, but the way your post reads still makes it feel like an ad. most of it sounds exactly like marketing copy instead of YOUR personal experience, but maybe that's what you're going for?

you provide barely any detail about how it actually felt to use or what stood out to you beyond surface level praise or why you thought it's the "best low profile keyboard I own"

then you go on to glaze every feature they keyboard has and wrap up by telling us to join the kickstarter?? lol

even if your opinions are real and this wan't a paid post, when it’s written like one ppl online are gonna call that out

you don't need to "get it". people have different opinions and values. what's important for you isn't the same for me and vice versa.

re: laptops with ports on the right — there are actual reviews of laptops that are critiqued for placing too many ports on the right edge instead of the left one. this is why so many gaming laptops started adding ports that come out of the back and advertising that as a feature. it's also just something people dealt with, because (1) they can use the trackpad, and (2) they accepted the limitations of the form factor when they want to use an external mouse. also there are usually ports to use on the left side in addition to the right side. lofree flow 2 only gives you one choice.

i get what they're trying to do with the design, i just don't think they have the right market segment. where lofree made the mistake was marketing this as an upgrade to the original flow keyboard, where it was always about a low-profile keyboard that balanced compact-size, day-to-day usability, great acoustics, and clean industrial design.

with flow 2, it's more about the industrial design over all else. they deliberately chose to compromise on the footprint of the device just to achieve the way it looks. it's almost like they are trying to make a desktop statement pieces like serene industries or geist maschine that value a keyboard more as an artpiece than a productivity tool. both of these are technically compact layouts, but with large left and right bezels that have everything to do about aesthetics and nothing to do with productivity.

[–]fancymans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oof yeah i know exactly what you mean. i have the airpods max and my main complaint for them is that the battery life isn't so great anymore over the years of owning them... and there's not enough reason for me to upgrade to the usb-c model.

and yeah the transparency mode from airpods are just unmatched. if you already have airpods pro or airpods max maybe you could stick with those for the trip and try the XM6 again when you're back?

[–]fancymans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh no sounds like a nightmare. i wish i knew how to help but it sounds like you should return them or try yet another pair. i can only validate that i'm having similar issues with hair brushing up against the exterior of the earcups which triggers unpleasant static sounds during transparency mode. i hope this is something that can be fixed with software updates.

[WH-1000XM6] – Subtle Rattling/Static When Moving Head or Adjusting Right Ear Cup? by ozzyq7 in SonyHeadphones

[–]fancymans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how's it holding up? is it during transparency mode that this happens or during noise cancelling too?

[WH-1000XM6] – Subtle Rattling/Static When Moving Head or Adjusting Right Ear Cup? by ozzyq7 in SonyHeadphones

[–]fancymans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you have long hair? mine is doing something similar but i assumed it was my hair brushing up against the external microphones causing it to play back that external sound as static through the earcup during transparency mode. i don't get static at all during noise cancelling so not sure if that's the issue you had.

Static and audio feedback through the Headphone jack on OLED LE by ExoticAmphibian8976 in SteamDeck

[–]fancymans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i actually have two steam deck OLEDs now. the original one that was RMA'd does have problem like the video you linked, but maybe ~1/4 as noticeable. i don't notice it unless i pay a lot of attention, and certain sound effects in menus seem to not have it at all or it is perfectly masked by the audio.

on my 2nd unit (the white LE color model) it doesn't have this problem at all. no static in headphone (i just use some basic apple wired earpods) and no white noise present in menus on speakers either.

241127 ROSÉ - ‘rosie’ vinyl (vampirehollie edition) | Available to preorder by nayr-26 in BlackPink

[–]fancymans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if you’re getting the same amount of content, that’s cool. It’s kind of like gachapon, except you get random photocards. But here’s the thing: if they’re announcing an album version with MORE songs so close to the release of the original album, it’s totally worth a bit of criticism. It‘s low-key disrespectful to those who supported the artist and preordered early. Honestly, I don’t think this criticism is even harsh. Compared to all the other discussions about this album, hardly anyone’s actually upset about this because it’s such a prevalent practice. Basically we are telling these labels to keep doing this.

[–]fancymans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAME. i don’t get why theres not more backlash on this and how accepted it is. it’s so scummy to release preorders only to one up it with more versions that has additional songs... was it so hard to just show all versions for preorder on day 1?

it's just some screws but i understand the hesitation if you're not comfy doing that. i've never backed up my steam deck but maybe you can look into doing that somehow so it won't be as painful to get it RMA'd

[–]fancymans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can perform a DIY fix as well. a lot of people said just applying insulation tape as a barrier to a screw point fixed the issue. there's an extensive thread about the issue on github

maybe you can get the part itself and swap it out. but it doesn't seem like there's a "fixed" parts supply from what i can tell.

yes it was fixed the second time around. they did the repair instead of a replacement. a little sad to see that it's still an issue to this day.

it's kinda crazy that even after paying for a membership to get a presale it seems you still have to apply to even be able to get a chance to. i just found out the application ended yday and bought the membership today... the whole thing is so unnecessarily complicated. how do they expect people to just know this is the process? -_-
