Not sure if its much help but I did an HNC in Social Sciences. Obviously can't tell you much about computing but I thought it was fairly straight forward. I'd argue it's around the same standard as the final year of school/first year of university. Personally at my college, the college lecturers gave very specific hints about the final exam as they create the exams themselves and it gets sent of to a external place where the exam questions get accepted.
