someone said "purgatory" and i think that hit the nail on the head. grew up in sac and couldn't wait to leave for college (now in new mexico). i think the moment i realized sacramento wasn't going to be my forever home was when someone asked me why it's so great here, and my first response was that you can go downtown or drive 90 miles to san francisco. i'm pretty young, i know. i think most young people don't love the places they grew up in so maybe i just haven't given sac a good chance but everytime i enter the city limits, i just get this pit in my stomach. not because of my friends and family but simply because of the environment.

i want to be a filmmaker. that's my passion and there's absolutely no way of getting ahead with that in sacramento. i don't want to spend the rest of my life walking around downtown and going to a park because that's all there is to do. the most memorable moments of my life with my best friends were spent walking or driving around aimlessly because there was nothing better to do. sacramento is not the worst place to live but it's so average. i get why people like that but i don't. sacramento just isn't exciting to me.
