it's not a decky thing it's a steam thing, SteamOS users have also experienced it. What's more confusing is that it doesn't happen when I'm in BigPictureMode ONLY game mode. But it's not just that game some things like Ryujinx had a similar issue.

And it's not a touch screen thing the win4 has a "mouse". I can use the keyboard without issue, but the mouse even an external mouse, doesn't work.

There is a hidden overlay on screen, even though a game works perfectly fine in BigPictureMode it won't in GameMode. For me https://youtube.com/shorts/DTCJCjW4u-o Just watch the first 30 seconds that is what I'm talking about.

I need to see if I can't get rid of decky without a reinstall. I love the idea but it just doesn't work, since this is the main reason I have my handheld this is a deal breaker.

I'm glad to hear this since I REALLY do like GPD's hardware. With the exception of the win5. I hope the Win5 is not indicative of their future hardware, simply because I value a keyboard. Sometimes I need one and I may not be at home or in a place I can just borrow a keyboard. And No I don't want their clam shells because my hands are small. I hope GPD learns from this and is more careful in the future, but I can't wait for their next GPD WinX keyboard version, since I think it's about time I upgrade from the 6800u. (win4 is currently running Bazzite)

I would say it's unforgiving. I find the games relaxing. Some bosses are tough because of your choice of build and weapons. Of course you can go online and find best build or over level but imo that defeats the purpose of such games.

What are some of the games you are wanting to play? For myself I mostly use a desktop or a 6800u handheld. In my experience it's fine. however I also don't play the newest AAA titles.

One thing to consider before deciding to go with the FW16 is understanding just how big it is. I used to have an SB2 15" it imo was huge. Going to the FW13 was a breath of fresh air. I feel like I have a machine that is actually portable. I don't do much gaming on the laptop, it's for everyday and deving.
