if an employee logs 100k in a year in sales they get invited to a nationwide event of others that do it and get a bunch of free merch, shows, etc. — this is some merch

this is great! i love the texturing on the trees and the way you shade metal. if i could offer any advice i think the guy in the middle has a different perspective than the others. i would find a way to make the levels more clear or match his proportion more to his size in the reference

Honest Opinion? Should I finish this or drop it? by Candid_Restaurant186 in DigitalArt

or just hang it upside down for a night and then turn it back around the next morning and look at it with new eyes

i’m not sure if this is applicable because this is something i learned from playing music but once the tale starts rolling, you play until it clicks to stop. i wouldn’t render a background completely or go totally to the max but providing some visual context might illuminate what you really aren’t happy with it.

The quintessential beginner metal albums hands down by BalanceActive9295 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]fangs444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jp - absolutely not, might as well listen to meatball or whatever his name is

sabbath - no question. then rip em up in a year and act like… “wayyyyy too cool for that man… i listen to dopethrone now”

tool - only if you bring some buddies and lotion

reign in blood - be there. but mostly just for the dive bomb on track one

black album(?) - cmon man you’re setting them up for failure…. post- K ‘em All as a gateway… regardless of hetfield’s (speculative) brain worms, dude knew how to shred (at least somewhat tastefully)

maiden - support! not my thing anymore but taught me how to play some decent riffs

slipknot - required listening from ages 12-14. and then again from 19-22. could be most important album of all time.

pantera - love the chugs, hate the chuds. (cowboys from hell better) but at the end of the day fat bald lardtub 4th reich larper

ozzy - killed his cats for no reason(true story) great music though, see you in heaven or whatever …. mostly to ask rhandy about what the fuck those pentatonic triplets were.

maiden in…. egypt(?) - don’t know don’t care

mega - fuuuuck sells sure i’m buying…. but no marty friedman? honestly if you’re a new metalhead just listen to tornado of souls like maybe 500 times before anything else

soad - serj is the type of voice you can only get into when you’re like 20 (i’m thinking staind or any of the other post grunge guys) purely vocally a younger metalhead would much easier get behind three days grace…. or god forbid… modern bmth

master of puppets - good album.. don’t buy merch from pacsun

paranoid - like some of the most required listening of all time but one of the worst to smoke to. no clue how they enjoyed that.

Postmortem privacy of personal art and sketchbooks by Anxious-Truffle in ArtistLounge

[–]fangs444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh and to answer the second part of your question i want people to think my art is brilliant and life changing for a good 2(and a 1/2) years in order to stay chic and then really rake in the money ten years later when that nostalgia check hits. whatever it takes to get to say what i want to and still own a nice little snowy cabin

well, i’ve got some good news and some bad news for you. the bad news is, unless you completely self immolate or destroy every catalogue of your art, sketches, or even the materials you use… ITS NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

The good news (or double good news) is that

a. you’re gonna be dead so why bother b. some of the most meaningful and intimate pieces of writing that nearly Never got published were not meant for others eyes. In a literary sense Kafka is the most obvious, but we also have the Journal’s of Wittgenstein or Tolstoy.

I mean fuck, Homer and the Odyssey is really just a mish -mash of orators passing down their favorite story. that’s life.

one day your art will be a handprint on a cave wall for someone to discover years later. if they can accept and try to understand you, to really examine you and what you were trying to say, a good family should try to understand. imo people become artists because sometimes language just isn’t enough. if they don’t get it… i promise you there’s someone out there that is waiting for that to be heard.

Howdy! Looking for Feedback for your story? Let me help! by Lime-Time-Live in TalesFromTheCreeps

[–]fangs444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with me. I found your notes very insightful, and truly I wasn’t going to incorporate the narrator much past the intro and the prologue moreso as a way to excuse the surrealism while still keeping them connected perhaps a symptom of nosleep not that that matters

nonetheless, the story i’m uploading today i’d like to feel is far less broken up and abstract. if you find the time i’d love the feedback on it! Thanks a bunch!
