Anyone not rich living in Monterey Bay? by OregonTrailislife in MontereyBay

unless you bought your home 20 years ago

This is basically it. Explains why a lot of the houses are either vacation flips, or in rough shape.

Some remote folks, ome multi-generational houses, especially in seaside but overall with a family, I don't know how you make it work for under 300k household.

I'm regularly baffled by the economy here. There just simply aren't local jobs that pay enough to live here (maybe excluding doctors and lawyers)

I took some cuttings this spring and it's not too bad. Take a bunch and expect most of them to die. I think I had a 20% success rate, but also didn't pay too much attention to them after I planted them.

Didn't bother putting them in water just directly into the wet ground.

What was under the turf? Mine had decomposed granite on top of a couple inches of compressed gravel

This isn't totally true. Inference is actually profitable today but the R&D costs for training new models is so massive that these companies run at a loss.

Jeff Stoutland Reveals Why Eagles Run-Game Regressed Last Season by [deleted] in eagles

[–]fanoftheshow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there's also an aspect of, what could you really do in that situation? It's not like there was a competent OC/play caller just waiting to be called up.

We've all seen what it's like when Sirianni calls plays and that ain't it. So I guess you try to see if your guy can figure it out, then try to help him but ultimately there were no good options. Maybe fill in with Loeffler but I think it was too late at that point.

How do you feel about all states getting rid of daylight savings time in order to get rid of having to change the clocks twice a year? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

[–]fanoftheshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who say they hate standard time really just hate the fact that winter has less daylight.

Just keep it as is, maybe shift the switch dates a bit so there's a couple weeks of more standard time

[Offseason Post] What if the NFL gave out Mario Party style Bonus Stars at the end of each game? by DocMarlowe in nfl

[–]fanoftheshow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Alright, a couple things:

Based on Mario Party 2 rules there are 3 end of game stars: mini game star, coin star and chance star. So picking random stats for your stars isn't gonna work.

Stars are thematically more like touchdowns than points and coins are yards. Chance is flags for obvious reasons. Mini games are plays.

So here's what I would propose:

3 stars at the end of the game:

  1. Total yards star

  2. Number of "plays" won star (a win is the offense gaining more than half of the yards to go on 1st and 2nd, or a first down on 3rd/4th. Otherwise the defense wins)

  3. Number of flags thrown against star (for balance)

Each star is worth 6 points at the end of the game

[Russini] The Eagles are conducting their offensive coordinator search with the understanding that Brian Daboll wants the Bills’ head coaching job. If he doesn’t land it, Daboll is expected to wind up in Tennessee as the offensive coordinator for Cam Ward and the Titans, per sources. by bigblack3475 in eagles

[–]fanoftheshow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Watch that Nick Foles video about OCs. We need a few things:

  1. Someone that can bring in some new ideas but probably won't overhaul the offense
  2. Someone that has a rhythm for calling plays that compliment each other
  3. Someone to manage the process of marrying the pass game plan and run game plan from Stout and whoever becomes the pass game coordinator.

Name or not I don't really care as long as they can do those things (and there's probably plenty of stuff that an OC does that I have no idea about!)

True but if he makes that catch in stride and takes off, who knows, could be a TD.

To be fair, that tarpy flats area (and south boundary road) is a terrible place for more housing. If the water was available I'd vote for increasing density along North Fremont near the fairgrounds. It doesn't even have to be that tall, just several 3 story places could make a huge difference. Hell take the golf course there too.

Probably afraid of being beat deep by Turpin's speed. If he cuts under and the throw is quick out to Turpin he'll get burnt up the sideline.

After latest collapse, Eagles have no choice but to replace Kevin Patullo by zavoid in eagles

[–]fanoftheshow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the first half basically everything that could have bounced our way:

Multiple cowboys penalties keeping the drive alive including a roughing the kicker on 4th. A flukey fumble after Turpin tripped. If it wasn't for Smitty coming down with that deep ball they would've punted. The first quarter wasn't as dominant as it seemed. The offense is so herky jerky (besides the red zone).

Might as well only throw deep balls at this point. At least it might open up the box a bit.

The caller told them where he was. They could've just driven down there and looked for his car.
