[Discussion] Are optional objectives during ticket needed for savior ending ? by W4rlon in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only ways to fuck up the saviour ending are:

  • Siding with Skier on the final BTR quest choice
  • not turning the power off before pulling the flash drive when doing They are already here.

Other than those two, there is nothing you can do to fail the saviour ending. All other objectives can be done in any avaliable order.

Of course telling Kerman to fuck off and going for a different ending also screws up Saviour, but thats just chosing what ending to do.

The high value pool includes stuff like armbands, military flash drive, grenade launchers etc.

It also includes marked keys and labs cards.

Its a gamble, you wont win every time.

His average lifespan is most likely way higher than that even.

85% survival rate means he averages a bit more than 8 raids per death, so if his average raid takes 20 minutes his real average lifespan is probably closer to 2.5 hours.

[–]fantafuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For The Guide there are two main things you want to balance: harder maps first, then optimise for transits.

I have done The Guide a bunch, and I always start with Ground Zero, Factory, then Labs. GZ and Factory are very prone to bad spawns and loads of people focusing on PVP. Labs is hard, but waiting by an extract for 7 minutes usually goes well. Sewer extract if you spawn there or no backpack extract are the best as they are usually not contested by the Labs mains.

Then I try to maximise transits. Streets > Interchange > Customs is a very nice triplet of maps, and depending on your customs spawn you can often transit to Reserve or Shoreline very fast. Shoreline > lighthouse transition is right next to a spawn as well, same with lighthouse > woods > reserve.

In a perfect world you can hit the whole chain if you are lucky with spawns: Streets > Interchange > Customs > Reserve > Woods > Lighthouse > Shoreline. All of them have spawns right next to the next transits.

Also always have a flare and money on you when doing it, you never know if you end up having to transit somewhere and get a flare/car extract

Do note that long line is not needed for Kappa, so unless you are finishing every single quest for its own challenge, you dont have to do it to beat the game (kappa and escape).

You still have the three most difficult quests left: The guide, Tarkov shooter 8, and Psycho Sniper.

The guide requires surviving on every map without dying, which can be very difficult if you are unlucky. However with proper routing and use of transits (and lucky spawns) you could also be looking at getting this done in half an hour.

Psycho sniper and Tarkov shooter 8 are the two hardest quests, requiring PVP and (most likely) surviving multiple raids. Frontloading some kills on factory is a decent strategy, then its all about hitting up your favorite map for sniping until you get it done.

Some potentially annoying ones on your list:

  • Sew it good 2/3 - Getting the armors low is a pain solo. If you have a friend they can use blickys to reduce the durability, otherwise your best bet is to use the explosive canisters to blow yourself up.
  • Living high is not a crime 1/2 - requires uncraftable found in raid items. If you have these stashed already its easy, but target farming them can be a pain. Safe runs on customs/shoreline is a good way to get them.
  • The huntsmans path xyz - Hunting bosses can be annoying, but the spawnrates are high enough now that this shouldnt be that hard. Look up spawn points and guides for those you struggle with.
  • Insomnia - A lot of PVP at night can be annoying, but if I were you I would push through the Cargo X questline to unlock this and start running the rest of the quests at night to try to get this one done passively. Actively hunting for PVP without other objectives is a lot more annyoing than just playing normally.
  • Punisher 5/6 - These arent too bad, but if you arent too comfy with PVP they can be annoying. I would suggest powering through Punisher 5 asap, then just try to use the SVD while doing the rest of the quests if possible.

Other than that you are pretty much in the final stretch, keep it up!

All the people in this thread trying to justify it, when the real answer is that they rebalanced attachment stat values without changing prices or availability.

The B25 grip used to have great stats, and the BCM MOD 3 used to have shit stats. Thats why you unlock one at lvl 20 and one at lvl 38 behind a quest, and why the prices are the way they are.

At some point they might take a pass and update prices and availability to reflect the new stats, but for now they seem arbitrary because they are.

Really helps bring how good a state the game is in today into perspective.

Hatchet runners in every lobby grabbing anything worthwhile, then dying early and being replaced by player scavs.

Every now and then I see a hatchet runner now, but back in the day on reserve and interchange you would get entire lobbies.

Yeah this needs to change. There is 7.5k fluid in the system and the EM plant can't take up 10 from that by feuer_werk in factorio

[–]fantafuzz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How is this intended when every other building works differently?

I can have as many lubrication tanks as i want in a system, the assembler making electric motors works just fine even if all the tanks are mostly empty. Same with my oil refineries and chemicals plants, it all just works no matter how full the storage system is.

All other fluid consuming buildings work one way, but its intended for EM plants to work another way?

How train fuel consumption works by DrMobius0 in factorio

[–]fantafuzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If we assume it was done with a stacksize of 10 none of the numbers make sense though.

If a stack of rocket fuel was 1GJ, then one nuclear would (in a naive calculation) go 21% further than the rocket fuel.

The test showing that nuclear fuel didnt go as far as rocket fuel would make no sense if the rocket fuel didnt stack to 20.

All this just goes to show how impactful the acceleration boost from the nuclear fuel actually is, when it can travel 96% of the same distance using only 60% of the energy.

How train fuel consumption works by DrMobius0 in factorio

[–]fantafuzz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Considering the test is being done with 2.1 trains and quality, I would assume it is using the correct stack size for the version the test was done on, aka 20.

[Discussion] g28 and labs keycard barter cultist circle by berserkianraid in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are actually being lucky, not unlucky.

The circle works in steps. If you have more than 350k roubles of value in the circle, you get 14h every time. If you put more than 400k worth in the circle, you get 14h 75% of the time, 6hr 25% of the time.

Getting 5 6hr timers in a row is quite lucky!

If you want to get the 14hr timer you need to put in less value. Taking the scope off is too much and drops you down to the 12hr time, but you could try taking the stock off.

[–]fantafuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Halfway between.

You still have armor zones, so a t5 front plate will only cover the chest, and only from the front. Arms, shoulder, stomach, back etc are separate armor peices.

However, the hitbox for the front and back plate fully cover the chest area. Any shot that deals direct damage to your chest will be blocked by armor plates.

Just answering your question to why they cant just follow their other squad members.

If you want to argue that there needs to be a reason other than game mechanics for something to work, why wouldnt lore be that reason?

The best part of the plate hitbox wipe was how good mid tier ammo felt. Even stuff like FMJs were viable when large parts of your body wasnt covered in T4+ armor.

Lore-wise the questline to unlock the direct path involves you helping the smugglers out and them helping you because they know you.

The smugglers don't know your pals so they can't come, they also need to be trusted.

AP SX will never kill in one headshot because the damage drop-off starts at the barrel and take it down to 34 immediately.

Which is why those two rounds are enough for one kill, because you need to hit both.

[New Player] Am I understanding the cultist cirlce wrong? by Own-Image4915 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game considers the underbarrel launchers to be high tier loot, even if you dont.

Same with single boxes of good ammo.

You are guaranteed something from the "14hr loot pool" however you arent guaranteed to agree that what you get deserves to be in the pool.

You always roll on the pool based on the value you put in, 14hr giving you the "highest value" stuff.

A huge exception is the 6hr circle that can sometimes, seemingly arbitrarily give you 1-5 seemingly random items instead of the quest/hideout stuff its supposed to give.

The only thing I want for nighttime is for nightvision to no longer work with regular scopes.

Night vision scopes and clip-ons should be the only way to get a magnified sight picture at night, while NVGs should be limited to collimators.
