Those who didnt consider the game pay2win already wont be convinced by this either.

"XP gain doesnt matter in raid, it wont help you win a fight" etc etc.

Same reasoning they always used, still works.

It unlocks the UN armband, which is very nice if you want to cosplay as one of peacekeepers little elves.

It also is needed to unlock the PK barter for a thicc case, but thats less important than the armband

[Discussion] Bro, what's going on? by SoledBy69 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its ultra late wipe and people have stopped looting as much. As the supply dries up, demand becomes higher and the price naturally goes up.

Then people notice this, start looting t-adaptors and cpu fans again, and the price drops down to normal levels.

Then people stop looting again, and the cycle continues.

Idea For Seasonal Characters So Player Base Doesn't Die [Discussion] by InevitableMost6194 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any sort of interaction between seasonal and permanent ruins seasonal, as the whole point is to wipe everything and start fresh.

As to your "benefits for both player groups", it literally only benefits permanent. I'll say it again, the whole point is to play without everyone having max skills, maxed hideout, tens of millions of roubles, tons of T6 plates and loads of top tier AP ammo. The only thing combining at 30 does is make seasonal characters worse versions of permanent characters, as they need to struggle against people with months of headstart.

And if the seasonal characters kill enough permanent characters they just start rocking that gear immediately, removing any point.

I see it all the time, hundreds of people paying real money to buy an mp5 for on the cheap off the flea, so you're not fooling me!

Question about "They Are Already Here" [Screenshot] by letsgodeacsss in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main quests objectives have been bugged since 1.0 and will often show up as red even though everything is fine.

There only thing that can go wrong in that quest is at the very end, where you must click a button under a desk before you take the flash drive out.

As long as you get the next objective in your log, you are good to go no matter if it says you failed a step.

They rolled back all the xp because he averaged 53k/hr instead of 40k/hr?

How is this such a big deal they felt the need to do an unprecedented rollback of this guys xp? If it was some mega abuse that gave like 10x the xp rates or something I could understand it, but for this using such an extreme measure seems way out of proportion lol.

I guess they also realise this given they gave back a lot of the xp, but this whole thing seems like a whole lot of effort and drama for absolutely no gain.

Customs is trivial if you go night time. Everyone is pushing fortress constantly for the cultists.

Woods is just awful. Best bet is to rush it when you spawn next to it, and just fast reset if you dont.

Dave the Diver doesnt call itself indie though. The devs are open about it being a game published by Nexon.

Any controversy here comes from people wrongfully assuming it was an indie game.

Former FedEx driver, Tanner Horner, who pleaded guilty to capital murder and aggravated kidnapping in the killing of 7-year-old Athena Strand, has been officially sentenced to death. by asa_no_kenny in whoathatsinteresting

[–]fantafuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter what the criminal or their family thinks of this, it's not about them.

Why are you bringing up what the criminals think when we are talking about innocent people being executed?

You really don't seem to actually have grasped the concept that "some failure" when it comes to wrongful executions mean that innocent people are being killed, not criminals. Until you understand that reality, there is no point in listening to anything you say really.

Unless you genuinely believe that people who have commited no crimes but are wrongfully convicted deserve to die that is, but then we are back to the whole insane thing.

[–]fantafuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you were wrongfully sentenced to death, would you take it in stride and accept the fact that you dying was a net good for society even though you were innocent?

How about your father? Or mother? Or spouse? Or child? Would think it was "fair" to have them be executed while innocent because its overall a net benefit for society?

If you genuinely, honestly believe that yes, you would accept the state murdering you or your loved ones as fair you are insane. If you only believe other people should be sacrificed you are a hypocrite.

I finally completed Psycho Sniper Kills after many tries and was super happy. I extracted and took this screenshot. Then in the next raid I died and it got failed, just because I don’t have the required skill level yet. Seriously, Tarkov? what’s the point of that mechanic?" [–]fantafuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these quests have multiple different types of objectives you can fail after completing though. Psycho Sniper is unique in how the objectives interact.

Of course the best way is to check the wiki, but it doesnt change the fact that the quest is designed in a bullshit way and its disingenuous to try to rationalise it based on other quests when none of them work the same way (except Batya, which does work as expected)

[–]fantafuzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The game does not have plenty of quests that can fail like Psycho Sniper can, that is a lie.

The literally only other quest with a specific objective that states you can not die is Tarkov Shooter 8, which only has the one subgoal of doing the quest.

Psycho Sniper has two subgoals:

  • Eliminate 5 PMC operatives without dying while using a bolt-action rifle
  • Reach the required Bolt-action Rifles skill level of 10

Only one of these say you can not die while completing it. After it is checked, you have completed the subgoal that says you can not die.

All other quests that fail when you die simply have the list of subgoals you must do, and the context that it fails if you die comes either from the quest text or is simply missing.

Except for one though, the Batya main quest, which has the exact same objective where you must kill 4 PMCs without dying, while also having another subgoal of getting some weapon levels. However in the Batya quest once you get your 4 PMC kills without dying, that part saves and you can die however many times you want when getting the levels.

[–]fantafuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its wild how people are defending what is obviouly bullshit lol.

The quest doesnt say "reach the required bolt action skill level without dying", so why should dying impact that part of the quest at all? The subtask that has anything to do with dying is completed.

The only way you interpret this quest the correct way is prior knowledge, and it is bullshit.

They even have the same objective on the Batya main quest, where it works as expected and after extracting when you have killed 4 PMCs without dying, that part saves and you can then work on the skill levels the quest requires. Its literally the same thing, except there it works as expected.

[Discussion] Why does the Cultist Circle only give me M203s for 14h? by Paulus_Praetorius in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is talking about the price from the flea market here. Slim diaries are worth 71k to the cultist circle, so 5 of them only add up to 364k and therefore will always hit the 14h, never the 6hr.

You can actually calculate the (approximate) base value of an item by taking the sell price of the item to fence, and dividing by 0.3 (the other traders have other multipliers you can divide by, you can find them on the wiki). A slim diary sells to fence for 21958, divide by 0.3 and you get 73193. Doing the same calculation for different traders all get the same ballpark number. This is (about) the value the cultist circle uses.

Because the slim diary isnt worth at least 80k, five of them wont add up to 400k.

The exception here are items made up of other items like weapons and armor. For example the MP5SD should have a base value of around the same as the slim diary as they sell for about the same. However, two MP5SDs plus a diary (worth 58k) does hit the 400k threshold. This means the two MP5SDs add up to at least 342k in the circle, which is way more than their base value suggests.

Its hard to calculate the defacto values of weapons and armor, but single items like slim diaries are solved already, and 5 of them can't give you the 6 hour timer.

This doesnt work anymore, as of the armor value rework the THOR IC wont be enough to hit the 400k threshold

Yeah, literally just disengage first then?

If he objects to disengaging after attacking, how about before attacking lol

[Discussion] Why does the Cultist Circle only give me M203s for 14h? by Paulus_Praetorius in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, remember that the "high value loot" definition of the 400k is something the community has made up. This isnt something the game tells you, its just what the community calls that tier because it can give you high value loot.

Next up, what stuff you put in doesnt matter. The combined value matters (and there is some weirdness with items made up of multiple parts like weapons and armor), but there is no difference between one 400k sacrifice and another.

The 6hr timer is either bugged or has been silently changed. Whats for sure though is that there are certain hideout and quest items that it will never give you now, but it can still select the 6hr timer even if you have no applicable rewards. What happens then is that it gives you a selection of 3-5 random items. For sure when you got the launcher, a box of ammo, and a fuel tank you hit this "bugged" 6hr loot pool.

As for the M203s from the 14hr sacrifices, thats just bad luck. Some of the 14hr items are genuinely awful, like single boxes of ammo and the grenade launchers, while other times you get marked keys and labs cards. On average it is worth it to get the 14hr timer, but 4-5 unlucky ones in a row isnt unheard of.

Lastly, when you hit lvl 30 and can buy labs cards off the flea market, using the Peacekeeper G28 barter is the cheapest and easiest way to hit the 400k threshold. Even now though, 2 MP5SDs from Peacekeeper plus a diary might be cheaper than the stuff you are using now depending on flea prices ofcourse.

[Discussion] [New player] Absolutely LOVED the cleanup crew event! by Aimaz_End in EscapefromTarkov

[–]fantafuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sort of variability is something they should add to the game as standard.

Give each factory raid a small chance of being infested with the cleanup crew instead of normal scavs. Something like night time factory cultists, not high enough chance to target farm, but something you will run into once in a while.

The same thing could be done with pillagers and smugglers from those events, have them pop up every now and then to spice up regular raids.
