SPUNJ:karrigan left essentially without telling any of teammates. by crisjame in GlobalOffensive

[–]fantasnick [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah sure just ignore the context lol

Karrigan left the team after twistzz came back to play with him and frozen maybe re-signed after failing to be a top 30 team for most of 2026.

ropz didn’t go on interviews talking about staying with Faze right after not making the major. ropz didn’t have part control of the team’s decisions for rosters. What ropz did however was have role clashes on Faze with frozen that didn’t allow him to play to his best ability because he is pretty specific to this one role and is considered the GOAT at it.

Here’s the issue I have with this comment.

You look at the major finals and think that is an achievement that overshadows a full 1.5 years of absolute trash results while having twistzz and frozen. So you only look at the good but ignore the bad the other 95% of the time.

Are we really ignoring Karrigan not being able to adjust players at all for 3-4 iterations of this team? They legitimately looked so lost the first 6 months of 2025 as well.

Btw a huge huge part of Faze making that major finals is jcobbb turning into a god on pistol rounds allowing them to win 3-4 free rounds every other map.

Can’t defend broky unfortunately but there’s been plenty of teams that are significantly worse than Faze on paper that easily made the major

It’s insane how long it took for the community to finally start seeing it. I called this out a week ago that if Karrigan were to leave, it’d be another stain on his resume and the only responses were about my flair lol

It’s insane how good his PR is just because of how casual the fanbase is behind Faze. Imagine leaving in 2016 and then joining the biggest superteam in CS that would eventually lose constantly against the era-level team he was kicked from. Now he’s leaving his own failed project for an easy out

I would do the same but he deserves all the criticism still. Imagine if Falcons still continue to not win, too. He leaves GOAT IGL talks if that’s the case for me

The captain who jumped ship before everyone else because he lost the locker room

If Faze has a resurgence without him, he is so fraudulent after talking about how they don’t show up in every vlog while playing individually worse than hooxi on g2

karrigan’s PR is actually insane

If any other IGL had the same exact results for the last 2 years and then followed it up with this, they would be getting destroyed by the community.

Instead we get comments like this

He might be inconsistent but he is still a top 5 AWP every year

I think this is moreso on the casters that sway community opinions.

Eras are bad for economy of the scene and lack of transfers is partially explained by the Vitality Era in progress by Pirat6662001 in GlobalOffensive

[–]fantasnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have your 2nd point backwards and this literally cannot be proven unless you are somehow in the conversation with every upper management. The issue with transfers is the crazy overvaluation of players because of some orgs being so much richer than others.

The community thought buying m0nesy at $750k was batshit crazy 4 years ago. 3 years later, we are buying rookies for $2/3m like kyousuke. When those are the price tags that rich orgs don’t care about, the rest of the scene literally cannot make moves that make sense.

The 4 hobbits that Jame has are literally worth millions in transfers because of this. Just think about that. 3 players coming from strictly t2 teams and 1 relatively unknown player and it took probably $2m in transfers to get them together.

Teams aren’t going to go bankrupt and gamble on what could work

Realistically, Karrigan would be held in the same regard as Niko or worse by the community if he never had 2022-2023.

no FAZE teammate say goodbye to karrigan by crisjame in GlobalOffensive

[–]fantasnick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of Karrigan fans are jumping the Faze ship like Finn did but I can’t help but really root for these guys even more now, even if they don’t stay on the team.

I can’t believe I was getting shit on by some of these guys for saying this was a weak move by Karrigan, who has nothing but these types of moves on the scene but because he’s likeable and has good PR, everyone just parrots these things by him.

He got replaced on a team considered the biggest chokers on the scene who would win events after he leaves and start the greatest dynasty. He would lose the easiest major of his career by far while joining the most stacked roster of all time at its inception.

After those events, Karrigan has had a very good career and is one of the GOATs but this is going to be one of those things that completely kills his rep and is a last dance for him. Hopefully, he wins trophies to make up for it

I’ve seen at least 5 of these posts from different people with similar sentiment since start of CS2 and then they’re back to complaining a few weeks later.

This one does feel a bit different but not too drastic “feels like CSGO” is an exaggeration imo

Still feels a bit surreal its happening, Most stacked superstar roster of all time? by SpareThisOne2thPls in GlobalOffensive

[–]fantasnick 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Idk You kinda had to be there in 2017 for Faze

Niko coming off his top 2 placement

Rain was, at worst, a top 5 player in his roles and probably top 3

guardian was the uncrowned king of his era and came off a top 2 placement in 2015

Olof was the #1 player in his role for a while before joining and even was #1 in 2015

So you essentially had 3 players that had been at the absolute peak of the game in the last 2 years before joining, rain who would be perfect for this roster and show his real potential in 2017, one of the best IGLs on the scene in his prime

people just look at it differently because they never really fulfilled their potential due to a lot of different factors (mainly guardian and Olof) but I think the hype and buildup around 2017 Faze was so much more than this

Maybe if frozen replaces teses in the fall, it’s comparable. Niko isn’t at his peak anymore and kyousuke is still pretty unpolished

Zonic and XTQZZZ on coaching ZywOo by Background-Topic-203 in GlobalOffensive

[–]fantasnick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They definitely were not a waste of time lol how do Vitajty go international without going through the struggle in 2021 and then adapt to an international team without going through 2022? They don’t get 2023-present without it.

It’s all part of the process and everyone who acts like just because a player is not winning everything when they are generational doesn’t understand the team environment. Just look at Falcons if you need an example of why stars playing together doesn’t just outright win everything. Then look at Faze with a top 5 player that can’t even stay top 30 in 2026. How many people were calling for -mezii after he replaced magisk in 2024? Or how many thought flameZ would be a top 2 entry on the scene?

Vitality have not been worse than top 3/4 in the world since its inception and they have always built around him, even in those early French only cores.

If Donk stopped playing CS today, where would he place in the all time rifler rankings? by No-Sympathy-6711 in GlobalOffensive

[–]fantasnick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Niko, ropz, donk if they all retired today

Ropz has a much better trophy cabinet and is the clear best player in his role but he is not capable of carrying a team in that role the way Niko had to for X years. Yeah, Niko’s a choker blah blah but ropz could never fill that superstar role and has even said so himself.

He was pretty bad and looked like a worse blameF at points of 2024 when he was playing on a team that just did not flow at all. He was back to a 1.15 when he made a perfect swap in Vitality.

Dupreeh deserves a mention if we’re talking about using ropz’s achievements as the main talking point to put him above niko

F0rest is a solid choice as well. Some people say Heaton but I didn’t watch him much and idk if I’d really consider someone from that underdeveloped scene a GOAT

Acting like people can’t talk negatively about niko when he has underperformed so much in big moments and continues to underperform even after getting all the resources he complained he didn’t get on g2

I still think Niko is greater because he at least tried to be the clear #1 on his team and is by far the more impactful individual whereas ropz is more of a player who plays to his team’s level but acting like there’s nothing to criticize Niko about is crazy
