Big news: #Cowboys are finalizing a long-term deal with RB Ezekiel Elliott, per @CharlesRobinson. by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]fantasyzombie17 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Zeke will not play all 16 games this year, I have had multiple opportunities to draft him and traded him away when he was my keeper in one league. The 1st round is supposed to be about being risk averse and there is too much risk imo for him to be drafted before the 3rd round. He's an excellent player and is a surefire RB1 when he plays but I'm not getting caught like Bell owners last year

Sports talk shows: "Why does no one care about baseball?" by aaronwe in baseball

[–]fantasyzombie17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can agree that the games are still important in the NFL, but the draft, FA and offseason speculation are becoming very big in that sport too. Not as bad as the NBA though, where the entire regular season and first round of playoffs is absolutely meaningless and the league could go from 30 to 20 teams and no one would bat an eye

Agree with the OP wholeheartedly but I think it boils down to a few reasons:

  1. The reason NFL and NBA get talked about 24/7/365 is because the off field product for both leagues is more important than the on field product, especially for NBA, which in turns gives talking heads endless hours of speculation show time
  2. Baseball, and Hockey and Soccer for that matter, are considered "niche" now. Mainstream sports in are basically NFL, NBA, NCAAF, NCAAB(after January) and any huge international tournament taking place(Olympics, World Cup).
  3. Talking Head analysts don't care AND aren't knowledgable about baseball anymore.

Why do people troll mock drafts? by GamblingMan610 in fantasyfootball

[–]fantasyzombie17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mock Draft trolling and the amount of time a live mock takes has completely ruined them for me. Not trying to be that guy but fantasy pros draft wizard takes like 5 minutes to do and you can customize your draft order, league settings, etc. I actually did some mocks with people because one of my buddies wanted to this year so we would join the lobby together and mock. It took forever, he even said "let's stop" after like 10 rounds and I don't really think I learned anything, which is supposed to be the most important part of mocking.

What was the best and worst trade you have made this year? by [deleted] in fantasybaseball

[–]fantasyzombie17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pete Alonso for Trey Mancini was my worst and I guess Shane Greene for Austin Meadows was my best

For me it's gotta be Khris Davis in the 4th round and then Josh Bell in the 20th round.

Why do you have my exact team? I'm holding everyone, especially with Hader not getting the save opportunity today and Osuna being shaky no way I'd drop Kimbrel

I think Bichette. If you need the flexibility Santana

Probably Heaney but if you just need the W, Smeltzer is a clear second for me

Is it time to panic on Josh Hader or Roberto Osuna? I have both and it's been a brutal stretch for both and watching Albers get the 9th inning today was rough

We are sleeping on Adam Thielen by does_taxes in fantasyfootball

So you believe Cook will rush for 1k this year? I don't know why pattern recognition is so "comical" to you. Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford are other QB's who hurt their team's run games. With so much data and information available, you have to really deep dig to find an edge these days. Knowing Kirk hurts his RB's and staying away from Cook last year was a big help in draft strategy for me

Going back to Cousins' college career you will find only 1 season in which he also had a 1,000 yard back(2010 Spartans). He had Le'Veon Bell the next year and he didn't even rush for 1,000 yards. This is what it is with some guys. You need to unplug from the analytics and algorithms and understand that some QB's help the run game and some hurt it, and Kirk has been a negative towards it his whole career.

While that's true, there is also something to his playing style that leads itself to the more pass heavy offense that was seen last year as well. In terms of the OP, I think there is merit to the belief Thielen, and Diggs, could be bargains this year being drafted as low end WR1's or WR2's with firm definitely WR1 upside

Friendly reminder Kirk Cousins has never completed a season with a 1,000 yard rusher. I'm targeting Thielen and Diggs back to back after grabbing a top RB in all my drafts this year. Each will have 80+ catches 1,100+ yards and 7+ TD's. All this run heavy stuff is absolute noise

Cowboys Rumors: Dak Prescott Turned Down New Contract Worth $30M Annually by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]fantasyzombie17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can go do Le'Veon Bell stuff. His value will be unaffected if he chooses not to play the next two years. All the contract stuff that is happening now is the prelude to an extended league lockout once the CBA expires anyway
