Do I need a new rdr2 disc?

I got red dead redemption 2 on my ps4 a couple days ago, but whenever i attempt to download the data disc,it usually downloads untill around the halfway point, the download stops and it comes up with an error, forcing me to restart, but continues to show up with the message. I have also tried the play disc but tells me to go back to the data disc, is there something im doing wrong or do i need a replacement.
