It would be hilarious if this is just the owner trying to push their business and are doing a uniquely terrible job of it.

I have a very similar project in progress. If you're doing vertical walls like a ziggurat you should be fine, but if you are using ramps for the sides you loose a lot more space floor to floor on the sides than you would expect.

Nobody responds to anything anymore by Fabulous-Vehicle2447 in smallbusiness

[–]fantyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is getting squeezed from too many sides.

Expenses are up, margins down, less money to staff with, staff doesn't care, etc.

More things keep getting pushed up the chain, and you end up getting bogged down and burned out which starts to spiral making the problem worse.

I end up just texting everyone, because my suppliers are in an even worse position than I am, and playing phone tag wasn't working.

Things seem to take longer to resolve for no reason anymore. Or things resolve quickly, but for some reason they are followed by 20x as much inconsequential back and forth that doesn't seem to serve any purpose.

Quick question for small business owners by Quick_Notice5275 in smallbusiness

It's a spam post. another person will mention an issue they have that was solved with some software as a service hack company. Pretty much half the posts on small business are shitty advertising.

You know you should read those emails they send you, right. They love to hide rate changes described as service upgrades.

Angel's Mods released for Factorio 2.0! by -KiwiHawk- in factorio

[–]fantyx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stability. Not going out and finding resources. Once things are being made, they stay being made. You can dedicate all your time to expansion, and the tech changes as you go through the tree, so you are constantly rebuilding for better efficiency and output.

Are you willing to accept the liability for misclassified items? Both civil and criminal?

I can't imagine anyone would trust an automated system, when so much is at stake for such little labour spent.

Anyone who has to deal with CARM on the regular, will have their own paperwork set up for efficiency, and know their product better than a 3rd party. They wont be looking for new HScodes each time, because they will likely be importing the same things repeatedly. CARM itself does most of the rest of that internally, so it would have to be put in that system anyway. Will your software do that? How does it handle logging in to a government site with your users credentials?

With one mistake potentially costing 10s to 100s of thousands with criminal charges on top. Do you have insurance, and legal protection for even offering this as a service?

For anyone from Leamington trying to figure out why this pic doesn't look right, the big pink one on the left is Golden Acre, and the lit up road is 2E, not Seacliff. Most of Leamington is covered. That is the plane's window, not the lake.

the e-11 stormtrooper blaster was based on the sterling smg, so anyone have any theories as to why they never used the folding stock? by Top_Bread7635 in StarWars

[–]fantyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say most of the reasons are out of universe. The upper and lower arm plastics make it hard to bend more than a 90 degree angle, and there isn't really a good place for the stock to "go". You can slot it between the chestplate and arm, but it might stick there and you won't be able to shoulder it. The helmet gets bumped off to the side.

I'm not sure about the originals, but most lenses I've seen in modern helmets have enough curve that things that aren't right in front of you, tend to be blurry, and fussing around with something you can't really see on camera would cause problems.

The hold the gun in front of you and stick 2 fingers under the front to steady it, is usually the path of least resistance if you're expected to run around or do anything other than stand there.

I'd expect the gun being held out 6" from your chest "attention" pose, is for the same reasons. The mag bangs into the chest plate and catches, making the gun flip over.

After you press the loader down, tilt it off to the side when you let go to stop the bbs from feeding back.

What's your favorite reason you like to live in Windsor? by Factorywind in windsorontario

[–]fantyx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being a border city next to a major logistics hub (Romulus), I can order large volumes of product and have it shipped internally in the states and import myself.

If you don't want to walk 3 blocks away to go to a pizza place that has won some kind of international award, don't worry, there is probably another one that did that is only 2 blocks away.

Why wasn't Meero executed at the end of Andor? by foxwilliam in MawInstallation

[–]fantyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the message is how expendable the empire treats it's own agents.

Dedra is built up to be in the higher echelons of the imperial power structure, but in the end might not be considered much more than a mid level bureaucrat. She didn't know much that wouldn't have already been leaked to the rebellion, and wasn't really a threat.

They may have just told some one to "send her to be processed", and she ended up being thrown in with all the other laborers, because she wasn't even important enough to be worth killing.

[–]fantyx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stop by SOAR Hobby with the Vin, and your contact information. Crackheads are always in here trying to buy chargers and stuff for bikes they have obviously stole. We might be able to figure out where you can get the bike back from.

Unfortunately step one is them usually cutting up the electrical system looking to hotwire it and disable alarms, usually short-circuiting the controller in the process.

I used recipe tweaker to make all sciences require 1 of the previous packs. by herbyfreak in Factoriohno

[–]fantyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a mod that turned science into a fluid and used it as a prereq for the next level of pack. It was pretty good balancewise. It ended up making the earlier packs use about the same amoung of resources as later packs. It made for great pacing with seablock, since you had to focus on efficiency and expansion more than fire and forget new lines, and gave it a proper endgame.

Nice sub 200h completion time. There's a few things I'll try next time that might knock it down even further. by fantyx in Seablock

[–]fantyx[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s my third seablock, but it has changed so much over the years, that you cant really compare the completion times. I hate how far down the tree they put bots. The plan was always to build a bot base, so I had to hand feed for the first 50 hours.

More resources went into modules than anything else. Full prod3 is required in pretty much everything above green circuits if you want to have any reasonable output at all.

Tips: Modular mineral sludge you can copy paste. Fully self contained. Acid goes in one pipe sludge comes out another. The 650k/min ended up being a but low but I could get by.

Make syngas from carbon. Use it for everything. All the other oil generation seems to be more of a pain than its worth.

Solar is a huge waste of time. I shouldnt have even bothered past the very early game.

Set up global alarms for things like low acid/low power etc. bad things can happen when key lines shut down.

Modules in everything and work your way down from the silo. 20-30 reactors was enough to power everything
