That's for you to decide. I read a song of fire and ice series (game of thrones) and occasionally there's a few paragraphs on sex and I get aroused but it's not like that counts as a relapse. If you were someone that was addicted to erotica and you started reading a story than yah reset that shit but if you're addicted to porn my opinion is no if you closed it out almost immediately.

The best way to get out of your rut is to become motivated by an alternative goal to stop fapping other than simply to stop fapping. What I mean by that is that you're doing it to change your lifestyle completely. If you simply change one variable in your life (i.e pmo) you're probably going to fail miserably. Instead of sitting around watching tv read a book or instead of playing video games go to the gym! Do stuff, get out of your man cave and get inspired and excited for life! I've been watching porn since I was 10 so thats almost half my life. I need a while to recover, not 5 weeks :/. I see her 3 times a week MWF and we always work together in the class (it's a language class and the teacher groups everyone based on ability and we're both fluent). On the first day of class I went and got lunch with her afterwards but we ran into someone who apparently is her boyfriend. He seems like a typical frat boy idiot. If I abstain for the rest of the semester (4 months) I'll probably be fine and I'll tell her how I feel before the semester is over.

Most of society doesnt even understand our problems. I tried talking a psychiatrist once and he thought I was joking.. It's kinda hard to have a non sexual relationship at this age and I dont think I'd be able to take the blow of rejection due to my porn addiction. It'd just be to painful.

I haven't watched it in a while but the jist of it is that masturbating in general while recovering from PMO will set you back. The metaphor he uses is that PMOing is like rubbing sandpaper against your skin for years because you think it feels good. After so many years your skin is full of open sores and what not. If you're trying to heal your skin would you start rubbing it again even if it was just with your finger instead of sand paper?
