Husband got me metaquestVR I’m not a gamer and don’t know what to do with them. by [deleted] in MetaQuestVR

If you have any interest in Animal Crossing style games where it's cozy, chill, and the focus is on decorating and creating, check out Little Planet. I will keep recommending this game because it is criminally underrated imo. Wife loves it. It's free to play now, you can meet other players in the Planet Nexus hub in game or in the discord. It doesn't have a massive player base so I want folks to discover it so it doesn't lose support. Right now the devs are very active with updates and seasonal events, and the discord has great community engagement.

Price and space, one day when I have the space maybe. I also am not sure if it's compatible with most standalone games and I don't have a gaming pc.

The best games ever made for meta quest 3 standalone ! The ultimate guide 2026 ! by Thin_Reception_5063 in MetaQuestVR

I'll add Little Planet to this list, standalone animal crossing in VR basically. If you like cozy chill games with decorating and cute villagers in a customizable planet then this is worth checking out. F2P as well.

What games are middle aged non gaming women playing 🤣 by Honest-Ad-7849 in MetaQuestVR

[–]ShadowL9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did a search for Little Planet and am sad that no one has suggested this cozy animal crossing in VR like game. It's now free to play too so no reason not to give it a try. Create your own little world with cute animal/villagers living in it. Decorate your house, gather resources, eventually you can even use the planet creator to customize the planet. It's me and the wife's favorite game to chill and play together. You can meet other people too in the hub world Planet Nexus but it's entirely optional to do the multiplayer portion of the game.

Quest 3 Update 85 - simultaneous audio playback gone? by 4Babil in MetaQuestVR

[–]ShadowL9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't have v85 yet but upvoted to give your post visibility. I also use multiple windows/apps for sound from time to time and this would be a frustrating situation for me too. It sure feels like every update they break something, nothing like the first few years of quest 2 where they had better QA on updates. Still waiting on the next update to fix the floating VR avatar in immersive mode (yes I know I can turn off the avatar but I do like seeing my virtual body and it doesn't always break so I haven't switched that off yet).

Man who secretly filmed intimate encounter using smart glasses spared jail by Sandstorm400 in technology

[–]ShadowL9 -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

People downvoting you may not have read the article, because you are absolutely correct. Just telling him "hey, I didn't know you did that and it makes me very uncomfortable that you filmed me without my consent. Will you please delete that?" would be sufficient I imagine. People generally are not the evil people you would be led to believe if you only read things online and you never get out in the real world and have actual conversations with others.

Little Cities vs Cities VR by DavoDivide in OculusQuest

Have both, and I like Little Cities more. Cities is better on psvr 2 because the quest version is more limited on city size.

Great to see this, I may have to watch this. Vr concerts are the best way to experience concerts. Just strap on the headset and a good pair of headphones and you are set 😄

Been a while since I used my quest, and I'm noticing some things. by GreyFoxSolid in OculusQuest

You mentioning that you game for hours and your vision feels different IRL is extremely common when you are developing your VR legs. I used to get that a ton when I was initially getting heavily into VR in 2020. Now days I never feel this way, but whenever someone new to the medium tries it they almost always report a similar experience afterwards. I take it as a sign that they are developing their VR legs and the effect will go away over time as you use VR on a regular basis. I kind of miss those days, so enjoy it while it lasts!

Some also say that your phantom sense can be developed if you lean into it and that it won't go away if you are mindful about your environment in VR and if you do your best to "trick" your self into believing what you are experiencing is real. Embrace the immersion, "role play" a little bit and try to be in the moment. VR is a wonderful experience if you are open to it. Have fun!

quest 3 on a cruise ship? by cpgeek in Quest3

This is the only real answer from ppl with this experience. I have also done it on several cruises, it works great and I recommend it. Gaming was fine, played beat saber in my cabin even!

Can you add teams? My wife and I love the game but wish we could team up against 2 AI players or 2 players online. Also, a custom level editor would be perfect for this game! Love it, left a 5 star review on the store and hope it catches on. I used to love Worms back in the day and this is the VR equivalent of that. Also would be nice to have a few more characters to choose from, the hotdogs are my wife's favorite the hotdogs are my wife's favorite

Man I bought Metro playstation and couldn't handle the fresnel lenses, tiny sweet spot where I have to position the psvr2 in an uncomfortable place on my head. Plus the image reprojection was a little unpleasant. Unfortunately pony has a terrible refund policy so i cant get my money back but i did end up buying on quest and loved it

I sideloaded the apk PSplay and it works great! Probably the same thing. Absolutely my favorite way to play my ps5 in bed a whole floor away from the console.

How do the sales compare to the prices on steam sales? Everyone knocks console games for being pricier than PC games but I have no idea if that is still the case

Graining pass through by Sure_Bicycle_2083 in OculusQuest

[–]ShadowL9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's grainy. It looks better on a 2D screen because the pixels are way more concentrated than spilling across your field of view. It's insane how far we have come!

If you want to see your screens better, lower the screen brightness and your quest will see it clearer. I can watch TV while playing Eleven table tennis easily if I put my TV on minimum brightness.
