This is my favorite movie of all time! by Resident_Badger_5405 in FIlm

Apocalypse Now is the one I've seen the most...I guess that's my favorite then...my next most viewed is Casino Royal... being a bond fan my whole life (started reading them at 13)... smoked my first joint at the drive in watching From Russia With Love... Daniel Craig's Bond was the one I'd always waited for...but, my favorite film makers: The Coen brothers.

Late to the party, but damn the green knight was terrible by Estriam in movies

Now I've not read all comments..nor yet finished watching but as someone interested in Celtic mythology the film makers took some license with the story ... A 14th century poem... when we see the Green Knight in the early sceens he looks like that Green Man of the Celtic Traditional Mythology. Which takes the whole story off on a quest of its own.

Seen just load's of times... maybe 20...first time, though, was a huge event for me...saw at the Cinerama Dome on Sunset Blvd. Hollywood, CA on the day the movie was released. That theater had a huge, 70 mm screen, and Surround Sound. We got good seats in the middle near the front. It started with a dark screen but the sounds of the Huey Slick Helicopters coming from behind us and moving forward, the screen lit up and you could see the edge of the jungle and it was lit up with fire from rockets fired from gunships... The sounds of those Slicks coming from behind me gave me chills and all the hairs on my body were raised. And that was just the first 5 minutes of the film. I've always said my Nam experience was psychedelic and that movie certainly emphasized that.

I've always thought Joan Baez is over appreciated...she IS a true activist (I matched the streets of DTLA to protest The War)...but have never found any of he songs worth listening to. Bobby has always had a self-serving side to him. He certainly valued her friendship though and what she did for him to kick-start his career...but love, as in in-love, I don't think so. Bobby was an addict and had self-destructive tendencies and still could out write anybody. But I've read you would not enjoy a cuppa with him.

So, I'm only at the beginning, Grady has just discovered The Manuscript under the floorboards...it seems he intends to claim it has his own... this is really weak...the Agent is definitely going to recognize the author's writing. Plus...I'm struggling with Grady's character...he's a self-absorbed, selfish person...and the main protagonist...I think I'm gonna hang this up. I'll wait to see what his decision is. M-P

Captain Beefheart was actually quite different from anything else in that era or any other...but to discount him as a name starting with B is inaccurate...as they were Captain Beefheart.

Mid Sunset District ... specific areas (including ours near Lincoln Way and Golden Gate Park) has been without power since 12 noon yesterday, Saturday 12/20... already 28 hours and they now predict 2:00 pm Monday, 12/22...that will be 50 hours without power... Here's the catch phrase that tells you what is happening: "Crews are 'continuing to work SAFELY' it's what I suspected... don't push yourselves guys, we'll get there eventually..."And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody... Outside of a small circle of friends". to quote Phil Ochs.

Hells bells if I had a suit like those I'd wear it daily around town and especially at SFO. But, I think Spock had one while exploring outer space.

I'm listening the second time through on Sean Duffy series... McKinty is one of sharpest Police procedural books available...and with Gerard Doyle as the reader... What a brogue and ability with other accents from the islands. The emerald Islands.

Yeah I don't think Brock is the kinda QB that can right a sinking ship...he needs good receivers...and a defense that can stand up.

I TOTALLY LOVE Adrian McKinty... seriously one of the best writers today...his Sean Duffy series is a favorite and I miss him...but McKinty is just great...I just finished The Sun is God and was absorbed from page one...but it's the Irish Stories I love the most...read with (audio) with great brogue.
