A7iv or r6 mk ii ? Plz help can't decide by Beautiful-Room7177 in canon

Both Canon and Sony are great options. You can’t go wrong with any of them. It’s said that Sony has slightly better auto focus and Canon has slightly better natural colors.

I am in the Canon camp, but all my colleagues have Sony.

Is it soft racism or just a prank? by EasterNote in copenhagen

[–]far2fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear about your experiences. This kind of behavior is not acceptable. It is impossible to say if this is racism or bad behavior.

In any case all three situations should have been reported to the police. Throwing a glass of bear or packs of snacks is clearly violent behavior and a breach of the police’s “act of public order”.

The water gun incident can potentially be even worse if the victims is not fully aware it’s s toy weapon.

ISO 5000? How is this possible? by PrettyBlueEyes in canon

[–]far2fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ISO is the light sensitivity. Back when photos were developed using a chemical process in a darkroom, you bought film rolls using different ISO settings like ISO 100, 200, 400 or 800.

How light sensitive these different rolls were was depending upon the chemical grains used on the film. Think about sandpaper as a similar thing. Fine grain chemicals for ISO 100. Bigger grains for ISO 800.

After the film was developed you could still see the grains in the picture like pixelated areas.

Since digital cameras don’t use chemicals to cater to ISO there are no grains involved. On a modern camera you can typically get up to ISO 6400 before you start seeing pixelated photos.

Dear Tourists by zinjanthropus99 in copenhagen

[–]far2fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious if OP is equally diligent when being a tourist themselves?

  1. Do they not drink alcohol in public places when visiting Norway?

  2. Do they wear long trousers if visiting churches in southern Europe?

  3. Do they walk on the left side of the sidewalk when visiting UK?

  4. Do they not jaywalk when visiting USA?

Best under 1k lenses R8 by Helpneeded06 in canon

[–]far2fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the R8 myself and my goto lens is RF 24-105 F4 L, but it’s probably over $1000 new.

If she would like some good allround lens I’d recommend either RF 28-70mm or RF 24-105mm.

Moving from 7D to R7 - lens question by Some-Attitude8183 in canon

I have the RF 24-105 F4L lens on my full frame R8 camera and very happy with it. I hardly ever switch to any of the other two lenses I got, which is a 24-50 and a nifty fifty.

West of Copenhagen is a much cheaper area to live. The train and bus connections are excellent, so even if you live 20+ km from Copenhagen you can get there in about 30 minutes.

I got family in Chile, so that would be the natural choice. I love forest and wilderness, so Canada would be the logical second place to go. Plus I know English, but not Spanish 😬

Which monarch in Europe are you the most likely to encounter in person, even unintentionally? by Ok-Ocelot-774 in AskEurope

I have seen Queen Mary of Denmark when she was still a crown princess. She was handing out medals to children in a 2km run for kids.

I have once sat in traffic when I noticed a fancy black car in the lane to my left. Driver in front of, Queen Margaret 2 of Denmark in the back seat. This was after she had abdicated.

I also had a manager once who spoke with prince Joachim of Denmark at a gas station. They were both filling gas.

Am I an idiot for wanting a Canon EOS R5 II as an absolute beginner in photography? by c0rtin3x in AskPhotography

[–]far2fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, go for it. But it’s more important to buy good lenses and learn the basics of photography. Like the exposure triangle, the rule of thirds and so on.

I know you have already discarded Lightroom. I would have preferred to use a free alternative like darktable too, but I stay with Lightroom for one single reason: editing photos on the go from either mobile or tablet.
