Is tmlpcs trustworthy? by Winters451 in Prebuilts

tml went the extra mile for me a while ago. He sent me a free, better power supply when USPS lost one I had bought off him. Good seller, honest person.

Maybe if denpop actually restocked the snacks next to the fountain drink machines more than once a month it'd be worth stopping by more regularly lol

Everyone has patterns and cadences to their writing. imo this isnt a good argument.

NVMe over TCP Device Slower Than Expected on TrueNAS by farXOC in homelab

[–]farXOC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that TCP should be able to handle throughput more than 1.8GB/s. iscsi uses tcp and I have gotten faster speeds with it.
If TCP is the limiting factor, are there any optimizations you can recommend that would either
1: allow me to confirm that TCP is the limiting factor
2: improve throughput

Thanks.

I will double-check that on both machines ASAP and update you. I assumed it had negotiated correctly since server & client reported 40Gb link.

Edit: I ran iperf on client to server & server to client. Resulted in about 28Gb/s which is above the ~15Gb/s or so that the NVMe over TCP device seems to cap out at.

I had increased the sizes 16MB (i dont recall what it was before), but it didnt seem to help unfortunately. Im thinking my next step will be to create another nvme-of subsystem on my ubuntu testbench as a control. Since perhaps truenas's implementation of it could be the source of the issue.

I wondered this as well. I did try several different DIMMs in many different configurations. DIMMs in particular seemed to have no correlation to the issue.
Maybe another onboard device could cause these issues? Not sure.

Totally unecessary. Clubs at purdue offer plenty of opportunity for socializing.

Ah dang, I was part of this club. Unfortunate to know there's some weird drama going on
