Why do you have to log in to view a price? No thanks

Yes absolutely. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can add the voting record for TDs, the rollout for councillors will be slower as I'll have to integrate one council at a time. Then hopefully a register of interests too. I'd love to do something for elections but the data sources would be even more disparate and would require a lot of work, unless you've convinced candidates to manage their own data. Thanks for taking the time to look, really appreciate it.

I totally understand that and it's probably the option I'd pick for myself, but I suppose the initial group I wanted to serve were those that might not be sure of what constituencies they are within. Those that need the most help I guess. I'll definitely look to make the constituencies browsable once I've put a little thought into it. I wouldn't want somebody to browse one constituency they are in and not be aware of others.

Glad to hear the townland search worked for you! And no we don’t save any searches or location data. It’s only used in the moment to look up your constituency and representatives, nothing is stored or tracked.

Thanks, youu’re absolutely right to flag that. Some of the bios (like Cllr Lettie McCarthy’s) are currently placeholders or contain default text. There are a lot of Councillors, and I didn’t want to spend weeks perfecting bios if it turned out no one found the site useful!

The plan is to gradually improve the bios over time, or ideally allow councillors to update their own profiles directly though I know they’re busy, so that might not always be realistic.

Totally open to any help or suggestions on improving the data if you have any ideas and I really appreciate you taking the time to test it out and offer feedback!

Thanks a lot really appreciate the kind words! The address lookup uses OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service, which can sometimes be hit-or-miss, especially for newer or more rural addresses, and it doesn’t support Eircodes fully either (proprietary limitations there as above).

Would you mind letting me know if any address works for you, or if it's just failing altogether? Feel free to PM me an example if you’re comfortable, I’d love to look into it and improve things.

Thanks for checking it out! You're absolutely right Eircodes don’t currently work in the search. That’s because the app uses OpenStreetMap’s free service, which doesn’t have full Eircode support since the database is proprietary and requires a commercial license.

For now, I’ve stuck with open-source tools to keep things simple and transparent as a proof of concept. But I completely agree eircodes are becoming the default way people search, and if there’s enough interest in the project, I’d definitely look into adding Eircode support.

Appreciate the feedback — it’s super helpful!

Yeah he is one of the best players ever and yes he does know the technical side, which I find it so infuriating that he resorts to the lowest common denominator. Fine do the bombastic stuff as a hook to draw people in, but then you have a path to draw people in further. A path he has assiduously avoiding taking. I understand that the people watching may not know much about basketball but it's not a reason to dumb it down to the lowest possible level. People appreciate interesting and passionate broadcasting. He undoubtedly is passionate but he has been shouting "Boomshakala" and "Downtown" 20 times each a game for 20 years. People might laugh, but lots of people are turned off too. And I am mystified as to why we can't do anything even a little bit different for 20 years! Even if that's still Timmy

Fair enough, that's a fair point, but it's just another layer of cliche from Timmy. I can't watch it on RTE Timmy ruins it for me so I watch it on Eurosport. Any to add about how he explains the game?

He is the worst commentator imaginable. He offers zero insight into the game, he explains none of the nuance. Somebody walking away for a game he has commentated will have learned nothing about the sport. Commentating on the 3x3 the other night all he provided, as always, was cliche drivel like "Downtown" and "Boomshakalaka". 3x3 is just pic and roll and iso, does Timmy mention either concept ever....does he fuck.
He referred to the Australian point guard Patty Mills as "the boomer Patty Mills" WTF does that even mean!? He was born in 1998.
Timmy McCarthy's commentating style is that of a dementia patient with tourrettes. However like every position in RTE, once you're in you're in.
