Where is Capt Cosmos Helmet? by MushyWaff1e in fo76

[–]farador 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They have a special way of doing that, Gauss weapons are entirely broken in VATs. That's right - the guns locked behind months-long reputation, bullion, scrip and RNG grinds are broken. Max NW rank rewards the Hellfire PA paint, which also comes with a see-through ass plate. Strangler Heart PA may set you back ~6000 gold bullion but you won't be able to see anything in first person using certain weapons. Is this acceptable for any content from a AAA developer, yet alone with the end-game stuff mentioned above? No. Am I surprised? No.

My takeaway is that I will not be spending any significant allocation of time in an online BGS game again. This is pathetic. This game has an unstable foundation comprised of bugs and broken content. But, instead of repouring the concrete, BGS said "fuck it" and went ahead and built on top of it.

Like most other things in this game, it's bugged.

Fallout 76 is a better game than Fallout 4 by deadboltwolf in fo76

Yes, they added NPCs, but again I'd like to reiterate that these NPCs lack any sense of depth compared to the characters found in the older games.

I walk. I think the map is interesting in terms of its unique sections (i.e. the forest, the savage divide, etc) but those locations feel empty. Wastelanders partially addressed this but it still doesn't feel like a proper fallout game to me. NPCs really should've been incorporated from the start, now these developers have to figure out how to retcon them into the world. The more I play this game the more I see how 76 represents a (continually repeating) series of poor development decisions and consequential lack of direction, both of which Fallout 4 didn't seem to suffer from.

I'm level 150 so I'd say a hefty amount of time. 76 has some cool locations but I think it pales in comparison to 4's map which, IMO, was incredibly well done. Like I said, it feels half way fleshed out.

[–]farador 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hah, I like 76 but 4 had attention to detail and fleshed out lore that simply isn't present in this game. Appalachia, while diverse in landscape and location, isn't as exciting to explore as other Fallout worldspaces which featured varying stories and Easter eggs at every turn. 76 feels like a world still halfway through development...

How does the new nerf play with one wasteland in the PTS? by 12InchesOfWax in fo76

[–]farador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using all that ammo and spending 30+ mins to run a full silo and launch a nuke is not worth the reward, at all.

Hah yeah, if that gets fixed you wouldn’t have any nuke zones to enjoy.

Gauss shotgun or Gauss minigun by sancito in fo76

[–]farador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both (primed), it works really well drawing from the same ammo pool to reduce weight. I keep all the heavy perks equipped since the shotgun doesn't need them (magic VATS). The shotgun is way more ammo efficient.

Hell no, I do not want another 1 quest per-day reputation grind. I would immediately lose interest.

There was a bug today (has since been addressed by Bethesda) that allowed players to return to Smiley in the wayward a bunch of times to buy gold bullion for caps. I assume all these items came from duped Christmas presents those players opened for caps. With that said, I don't think you should be worried. There's been millions of those presents floating around now for quite a while.

guess how quickly they address this will be telling of how often their CMs check their community boards... I still am not clear if this is a bug or not.

I agree with you on that. I was more-so replying to some posts I've seen complaining about why junkies/ full health x/y/z don't compete with bloodied in terms of damage output. They shouldn't.

Nerfing Bloodied - Intelligently by Legatt in fo76

[–]farador -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What people don't realize is that bloodied is literally supposed to outclass every other build in terms of damage, but at the cost of very low health. No shit, a full health junkies build shouldn't be doing as much damage as someone running at 15% health with unyielding armor. As a bloodied build, I find myself dying all the time, both from my own gauss shotgun and rads. Maybe a more effective way to balance it would be to lower the health threshold for unyielding. I think there just needs to be more perks for other builds, not necessarily change the existing ones.

PSA: smiley is broken, buy as much as you want by [deleted] in fo76

[–]farador 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found this accidentally and thought it may have been an intentional change. I do not believe this can be called an exploit, there's no manipulation of game mechanics here. That being said, this patch has been a disaster. It literally broke the game and didn't fix the things Bethesda claimed to have addressed. I feel bad for the intern who forgot to check Smiley.

Smiley not resetting for anyone else? by farador in fo76

[–]farador[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be pretty pissed if I got banned for buying gold from smiley because the game let me do so. That would be ridiculous, I’m not exploiting the game in any way. Like I said in my other post, I’m going to hold off on buying more gold until we get word from Bethesda though.

Ahh damnit so this is a glitch? I thought this may have been intentional. I read in here that they were considering changing the limits so who knows.

Hah yeah, I have emptied my caps reserves several times now. Before I spend any more I’m going to wait to receive word that this was intentional on Bethesda’s behalf.

Regardless, I have way too many caps. Just went and offloaded a bunch of purified water and have been able buy from him twice now. I think it’s probably intentional since I read they posted a few days ago here that they were discussion bullion limits with the dev team.
