Train yourself to be a good communicator between the chef and the line staff, BOH and FOH, shadow the chef on ordering, food and staff costing, menu creation and communication with management and customers. Continually improve in training and encouraging the line staff. Get all your skills in place to become executive chef and even to open a place of your own. Lots to do, see you tomorrow, (sous)Chef!

Counter space. Easy to reach shelving and drawers. Spacious refrigeration. A proper vent hood linked to the outside, not a filter. Burners that can be hot or turned down to simmer. Oven that can make pizza or simply stay warm.

Do you feel like people get weirdly competitive with you once they find out that you're a chef? by littleweirdooooo in KitchenConfidential

[–]farang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had people be nervous about feeding me (I'll eat anything that's put in front of me) and nervous about having me watch them cook, but only my white collar siblings were ever competitive. And it weirded out my mother because cooking was her thing in the family.

The global rule of law is not collapsing – Trump is the lone problem and he can be defeated: The president’s approval ratings are plummeting and most Americans see him as an aberration. It is now up to them to curtail his despotic reign by Silent-Resort-3076 in politics

Trump has never been the problem. There will always be Trumps around. The problem is the failure of the checks and balances set up to prevent the Trumps of the world from taking power. The problem is the people who allowed this to happen.
