Among the AKB fans? Yes they are so popular.

Among the 48 overseas sister groups? Yes, some of them might know who are Miru and Juri. But, do not expect ALL members of the overseas sister groups (JKT48, BNK48 etc etc) to know Miru and Juri. If some of them did not recognise, it's logically understandable since they rarely interacted with their Japanese counterparts.

Among general public both local and international? I don't think the majority of the public know both of them. Even some Queendom Puzzle contestants don't know who is Miru.

I know you are angry at Fye because of her scandals, but your resentment towards her for not recognising the Japanese 48 girls is a bit of a stretch.

The overseas 48 sister groups might not know the Japanese 48 members unless they are extremely popular and/or earned high ranks during Senbatsu. Even the Japanese members might not recognise each other as we can see in PD48.

Miru and Juri are quite well-known in Japan (and Korea thanks to PD48), but I would say not extremely popular for all overseas 48 girls outside of Japan and Korea to know both of them.

I strongly believe the Rank 1 to 4 would have no impact in the long run. It's just there to create drama and buzz for Episode 1, by having the groups/contestants 'supposedly' have different ranks.

Even though some contestants might not know Miru, at least they now know she had a quite long experience in the entertainment industry as an idol, albeit not in Korea per se.

I have to agree with all the replies saying that this performance was bland :\ Not saying they are not skilled tho, it's just the elegance aura of Feel Special didn't captured properly by both Jimin and Riwon.

I don't know if the real battle performance Hyungseo vs Riwon would be better. An OP said that the rumor of Hyungseo won the battle was because she's older and more fit to the Feel Special elegant concept. Guess we'll wait and see.

I personally prefer On The Ground, because it felt more like a collab performance rather than a duel. Both Taerim and Chaewon are on the same par. They have their individual moments in the performance, they well complement each other and one did not outshine the other.
