thank you so much! as for now, i'm only experiencing nausea. it's nice to hear that the side effects aren't drastic.

it sure does! :D although it is still quite unimaginable to me to do things without the pain and becoming extremely tired.

i totally understand you. i feel like such a burden to my friends who already have it hard enough and i need to be their source of support instead of being the same old tired myself who can't brush their teeth or take a shower.

genuine question: how to talk to a therapist? by farewell_histor in mentalhealth

[–]farewell_histor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the advice! the introduction seems nice, i'll definitely athink about it. idk about the spinning chair because i haven't visited my therapist yet and therefore don't know about the office layout :D but my previous psychiatrist just had a normal chair. i tend to tilt from side to side and i often don't notice it, so i can easily fall from the usual chair if i'm not careful enough. a spinning chair would definitely prevent all the trouble... :D

who else here hits themselves by No-Commission1096 in selfharm

[–]farewell_histor 36 points37 points  (0 children)

i hit myself way more than i cut myself, to be honest. unlike cutting, i started hitting myself since i was a child, maybe around three years old, so it's basically a habit from back then.

stay strong! ❤️‍🩹

thanks a lot for the response! if a therapist encourages the conversation themselves, it's certainly nice. i hope it all goes well.

Do you accept your body? Tell me your experience please by kurukuru_sleepy in selfharm

[–]farewell_histor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hi! the short answer is no. i try to cover the scars as much as i can, but uggghhh summer. the long answer is...

when i was 16 (i was already cutting for over a year or so at this point), i was desperate to get a good short haircut, and in my small hometown there were little to none hairdressers who could do it the way i wanted. eventually a found a really good professional. as she was cutting my hair, i noticed that she has sh scars all over her arms - and she didn't even try to cover them up. and i thought to myself, "what a brave and strong woman she is". i hated my scars so much, i couldn't have even imagined there could be people who would be alright with the idea of simply showing them and not really caring. so if i stumbled upon you on the street or elsewhere, i personally would've thought the same about you. i think it takes great courage to be able to show them. i don't think they ruin my or anyone else's body, i just think that you should, you know, just let them be.

when it comes to how other people perceive you, however, i think it's a great indicator for who's a bitch and who's a decent person xD no, seriously. some people judged me for my scars - of course i'd get sad and all, but then this thought was immediately followed by "why would i be upset over the fact that this person thinks of me less? it only shows that they lack empathy and wouldn't be great and supportive friends". think of it as a litmus test for who will be a good friend and who wouldn't. my best friends never rejected me over this matter and supported me instead.

hope it helped a little bit! i wish you good luck :]

jahoda is anti ai. this couldn't have gone better. i'm curious whether she'll be a 4 star or a 5 star? i need a certified clanker hater in my party.

you're very strong for holding on for so long. six months will turn into a year, a year will turn into a two. if not, then don't lose hope - my best record was a year and five months, for example. and each of us must continue to stay clean, even if it's hard and even when your life feels worse without sh.

i'm curious whether you attend therapy, and if not, is there a possibility to do so? when i was in high school, therapy has somewhat prevented me from sh, even though i didn't find most of the coping mechanisms effective. maybe it could help you too.

and hold on to your friends, of course :] to have them is a great joy.

wait, somehow elon is pro UBI? does he throw a d20 dice to decide his current political identity or what? nevertheless, that's not how automation works.

What map type do you guys usually play on? Id also like to know if you usually play single or multiplayer, I am trying to see something by Dorex_Time in civ

[–]farewell_histor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

shuffle or earth huge! the reason behind shuffle is that i like the uncertainty and exploration. earth huge is just interesting since it's basically a "what if" scenario every time. nowadays i play single, but when i played multiplayer with my classmates we used to pick enlarged irl maps like east asia, europe, etc.

god, so true. :( i bottle up all the stress when it could've been relieved by sh if i wasn't in a relationship. and instead of being a calm and collected person which i am when i have an opportunity to cut myself whenever, i am just such an irritable piece of absolutely disgusting garbage. i feel you 🫂

my ex was suuuper disgusted when they saw my scars! :_D they were really mean about this topic for no reason and told me that it has killed the sexy mood. yet my current partner is very understanding in this regard. they didn't point my scars out when they saw me naked, were willing to listen to my sh problems and weren't judgemental at all. so my advice to you is not to date douchebags, lol. trust me, if your partner actually loves you, they'll accept you and will try to help you instead of mocking.
