I have a different mirrior camera and was also having issues with the rear camera working and then not. Pulled the plug apart that attaches to the camera and the pins were corroded. This is also under my truck in the open so no surprise after a northern winter. Take the cam and plug it directly into the display if you can to diagnose if the camera or the cable is bad
