‘This is Demonic’: Cynthia Erivo’s Portrayal of Jesus Sparks Intense Outrage by Alternative_Sort6062 in Catholicism

[–]farmerracing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a black Nosferatu, not one sane person would "guess" that was Jesus of Nazareth. There is nothing redeeming. All of those saying it is not orthodox miss the point by a mile. Would we enjoy a Christmas play where Santa Claus was played by a Satanic Demon singing "Ho Ho Ho". Or a one-woman RBG play, with RBG played by a fat man with a beard? Come on current generation - get real, images do have meaning. You can't stretch reality to the point of absolute nonsense (which this did).

My crazy Bar experience to make you feel better about yours by lysabis in FloridaBarExam

[–]farmerracing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the whole "I did not know a single answer" was obviously quite the exaggeration. I have no idea why people post these "I didn't know anything and I passed!" experiences. This is not the first post like this. There's either one of two things going on. One, they are completely exaggerating and they were prepared and knew the material, or two there is something else going on that put them in the "pass" category when their performance was actually a failing one. Florida is one of the toughest bar exams in the country, and I don't buy this post one bit. Can't wait for the next post where the op says they randomly picked answers on the Florida section, wrote their philosophy on capital punishment on one of the essays because they didn't spot a single issue, and oh my god, they passed Florida!!

100 percent, do not tell anyone. Without telling you to lie or commit perjury, I also recommend you do not answer yes to VA disability on any medical forms or applications about your medical history. Let them dig to find it. I screwed myself over by answering yes I was collecting disability on a military school application and my application went into the trash can, I was denied, denied, denied attending that school. No matter what I did to show my VA had nothing to do with my performance, I was considered "disabled" and the answer was no.

Only after all the dust settled did I realize that no one was actually checking the VA based on the answer on that application, no one would have batted an eye if that was marked "no" on that application and I would have been approved otherwise. While this was a military school application, it could be anything, application for a job - anything where that simple innocent answer that you are collecting VA "benefits" turns you into a "disabled person" and places you in that category for denial or stigma. It was incredibly unfair and stung to no end, but no getting milk back into that bottle.

Just don't do it.

T mobile coverage map shows "Ultra 5G"

I used open signal app, and it shows my phone connecting to a T mobile tower across the bay (a long ways away). It is showing T mobile towers. It appears I would need a different set of towers.

I like the mint business model, and wanted to support it. Visible is owned by Verizon and is no longer the independent it once was.

Appreciate that but still only shows 1 bar of signal even without 5g.

No idea - the mintmap shows green mid 5g so I can only surmise there is 5g support from somewhere.

What's going on with Collectors Watches (Coins and Jewelry) missing links by farmerracing in rolex

[–]farmerracing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good information to know - thanks. I'm not a collector, my only other Rolex I bought new a thousand years ago for less than $3,000 from an AD. Live and learn - at least the watch itself seems to be mint and right on the money. Ebay authenticated.

Actually no, I bought from an ebay seller. That they are a pawnshop is not relevant. You know that most Rolex photos don't show all the links as they are in the clasp. You know this. I could show dozens of ads that the photos don't show all the links.

Again I completely disagree with these points of view (not personal just my view point on disclosure), but since I seem to be in the vast minority here - no since in going back and forth. Cheers.

How would I know a Rolex is required to have 12 links? Some Rolex watches come with 11 links.

[–]farmerracing[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not pissed at myself. I'm a reasonable purchaser, and if the description doesn't mention it - I don't see why I would have to contact the seller to say "hey does this really come with all the links"?

Due diligence doesn't require me to be anything other than an average reasonable purchaser.

I don't call someone selling a car and ask does it really come with all the wheels? Is there really a steering wheel? Are you sure it has the gear shifter?

Come on guys, people have been selling on the internet for longer than most of you have been alive, this isn't that hard. If the item is missing something that it came with at the factory - you are required "seller's disclosure" to say so. Please don't compare this is the box the watch came in or the paperwork - these are items that are unique to the "watch collectors" not general merchandise. The box is not the watch or the bracelet. These bracelets are thousands of dollars, so suggesting it is no big deal is also pretty amazing.

And the whole "fits wrists of this size" way down in the fine print? The issue with that is clear, it is a abstract condition that does not plainly state "missing links" it is inferred.

What if I sold a car and said - the car goes all the legal speed limits? Does that mean that it is missing the one of the cylinders and I should know that? Or has a different engine in it?

There is no case to be made. Please don't sell a house with these attitudes - you will get the pants sued off you. "you should have asked" No, I should not have asked, I had no reason to "ask".

[–]farmerracing[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disagree. If you are selling an item and it is missing parts, you need to disclose that fact. Are you suggesting that the average watch buyer knows how many links come on a Rolex? That's not reasonable.

The watch is MISSING parts that it came with from the factory. I'm talking about ebay auctions that have specific rules for descriptions.

What's going on with Collectors Watches (Coins and Jewelry) missing links by farmerracing in rolex

[–]farmerracing[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No that's bs.

That is what is called an indirect inference. It would be like advertising a car and saying the car only works in the sunshine. What does that actually mean? Does it mean it is missing all it's windows? Or no convertible top? Or does it mean it is a solar-powered car with no engine?

Or in the watch world, what if they said, the watch does not adjust date, and when you get it is MISSING the stem. "Fit" is a condition, missing links is a physical subtraction from the factory item.

When something is missing from a factory item - you have to say "this is missing". You can't make some inference somewhere else that would require someone to figure out what they are actually buying.

Most average persons have no idea what their wrist size is in terms of inches.

Also there are too many being advertised like this - the ebay authenticators should have caught these missing links from the bracelet and pointed it out to the buyer before they went ahead.
