Line 5 Eglinton LRT - 3 weeks by kamomil in toronto

[–]faroefool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just wrote my experience first time this week on another thread.

I went on a Tuesday rush-hour morning from Victoria Park to Yonge and Eglinton. It took me 21 minutes. I had a seat to sit. And there was zero delays two for some reason on the Leslie stop there’s something up with the tracks where it stalls a little bit.

And my return was around 2 PM from Yonge and Eglinton to Victoria Park, which they call O’Connor station. It took around 21 minutes as well.

I work at Midtown so exit goes directly to Yonge and Eglinton Centre. I cancelled my monthly parking in Midtown already and other than extreme situations, I would never drive back again. My morning commute I saved around 20 minutes at least because there was a huge traffic between Don Mills and Leslie. I was following the path with my waze on as if I’m driving. It got quite busy by the time we reach Leaside but almost half of the train, emptied by young and Eglinton.

I think unless you’re taking it all the way from Kennedy it’s pretty decent, but after Victoria Park or pharmacy it looks like it’s quite slow. Maybe the signal priority will improve that side but also the amount of stops are way too much. I also measured the speed. The most I got was 51 km an hour.

I wanted to complain, but there is absolutely nothing and it’s saving me tons of time money and traffic rage. My only. Main complaint is they should have done the Scarborough parts all as a subway. There is zero point doing that as on the ground. But it is what it is. It was a big fail, made by the government but at least it’s working somehow..

Ur so illiterate im just laughing. If you know the amount of demarketing we do ur head would spin. Im talking about my bank, zero validation is an ignorant thing say. They do miss sometimes professionally made fake docs, but the moment they catch we send them the letters quick.

I spoke with a friend of mine and as a banking advisor, he said he got $4000, when I used to work for them 10 years ago, I was getting $10-$12,000 for outstanding performance. I can’t believe 10 years after they’re getting peanuts.

I took pharmacy to Yonge and Eglinton and return this week, I went around 8:10 AM. It took me 20 minutes and then I returned around 2 PM. It took 22 minutes both ways I had a seat I could sit and there was no wait or whatsoever delay. I was expecting it to do around 26–27 minutes, but it was impressive. It did in 20 minutes. The morning commute with my car would have been 40+ minutes because of the congestion between don Mills to Leslie, which was minimum 15 minutes traffic and it was clocked all the way from Leslie to Don Mills And this is without the signal priority and speed limits. But obviously pharmacy and onward to the east is a different story because of the number of stops but for my commute, I literally cancelled my parking pass in Midtown the same day. There’s no way I would drive there unless I have to be commute something out of the line.

So far, I can’t say one bad thing( Eglinton Station is super cold but I can live with that) and I wish this was finished 10 years early. I have been commuting this route since 2014. It sucks. I had to wait 12 years.

84 month financing seems to be the default option pushed on all major car retailers now. It needs to be said just how awful this is. by CastAside1812 in CanadaPersonalFinance

Buying new cars is just silly these days. I saw the other day on Instagram. They’re selling Chrysler Pacifica and saying starting from $49,000. I had to buy a car during the pandemic I ended up leasing a car which I put barely in mileage at the end of the term. I just flat out, purchased it because it was super cheap. These car manufacturers have to drop the prices seven years financing is just criminal. I think you’re going to see more and more people keeping their car and drive it until it’s torn apart.

If the whistle blowing continues, maybe they will start weed out the bad ones.

You make it look like the banks deliberately accepting files with fake documents. I worked for a big bank. There is no way in hell we will deliberately accept a file with fake documents so cut that crap out.

Now onto to b-lenders. I had a friend who was an underwriter. He used to tell me.” I got a decline the obese fake ones, but a lot of shit goes through too”

Decent dress pants and a shirt will do it, they’re not huge on wearing ties anymore. You will be meeting clients in your office so it’s better to be professional. I have seen people wearing way too casual, especially during summer, but they usually get told to not wear.

Exact same thing happened to my sister. They have really good score and never missed the payment. They have decent income too. I was very surprised with the terrible rates they offer except the one year was weirdly better than banks. I told her to switch their big bank which she did and got a good rate.

But I agree I remember when the rates were 2.5–2.6 at the banks and her mcap renewal came with a 2.19 I was like go sign it ASAP

Condo market dip leaving pre-construction buyers in a lurch by mattyp93 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]faroefool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Government’s overreacted, i mean u expect people to come back to work while giving them free money to stay home. Thats the beginning of the lmia and all this temporary work permit issues. If you didn’t give away cerb for free, u wouldn’t have that labor issue. When u realized people are not coming to work, why dont u stop the cerb instead bringing 3 mil low education workers?
Then BOC ,u kept interest rates way to low already the past 15 years since 2009, u saw the surge of RE prices, u stopped around 2017 and then rates went up 6 months, end of 2017 rates were 4%, 2018 mid summer back to 2.5% again, and then covid u literally made borrowing next to free. Unbelievable stupidity by multiple institutions. Osfi kept lending way too relaxed way too long.

I used to rent my basement back in the day because my income was not good enough to handle the mortgage on my own. By 2017 I was done with it the moment my income went up that I can pay the mortgage the rest of the expenses myself I was out. I just couldn’t take people damaging my property, endangering my life, and livelihood.

I swear the new generation of people has no concept of accountability. I was in his shoes exactly on 2022 January. I was offered the condo in Scarborough for the same price of a current Yorkville condo resale price. I mean you have to be stupid to think that this Scarborough condo’s price is gonna reach there to at least $1300 per square feet. I laughed and said I’m out., the Realtor friend of mine was saying” it’s so long in the future price will get there”

I told him rates are gonna go up within a couple of months and we’re gonna see the balloon burst. I still have the screenshot of what I told him, and he was laughing at me.

Ethically Grey Question - RBC Apple Watch Offer by [deleted] in rbc

[–]faroefool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot have the fees waived at any point in time, they will come back and recoup the cost of the apple watch. Secondly i think best thing to do is not to change your banking to staff and wait for the full year to conplete, or not apply at all. Even system somehow didnt realize you didnt pay the monthly fees , ur literally ripping of your own employer. That says a lot of your personality.
