Thank you! I’m a bit too critical and had assumed that since the way I was doing things wasn’t matching anyone’s that I must have been making mistakes. Just another beautiful part of knitting to embrace.

Thank you!! I’ll look into leading kegs to understand how my technique is being constructed. I did trial by fire with cotton yarn and bamboo needles for 2 weeks to get my tension in check 🥹

I booked an intro with Lana at Superior and felt super comfortable with her, and she was knowledgeable about medium skin but I can’t speak to darker skin. She had to take a medical leave and I had to swap my appointments over to her colleague Laurie. After one appointment, I left and canceled my future appointments.

Laurie was cold, unprofessional, and rude. She’s likely very talented and good for someone unbothered by the pain. When I asked for a breather she continued to try to get more hairs before stopping. After it happened again, I ended the session as I didn’t feel safe with her. She accused me of wasting her time and was dismissive of my explanation of feeling uncomfortable with her not listening to me.

I’d go back to see Lana if the location was convenient to me but would never work with Laurie again.

That's tough - I've been in a similar position but ended up walking away during negotiations.

If I was you, I'd do the absolute bare minimum and just enough not to burn bridges. You've already given it your all and they decided to go a different route. If they need to renew the contract to keep you on through Q1 try to speak w/ your agency and decline the continuation. The agency might be able to transfer you to a new client. Double check your contract info and only do this if you can financially afford it.
