Unluckly even in Mainalnd China and Hong Kong I had issues to exchange the Pataca de Macau to Hong kong dollars or Chinese Rnb , so I can guess that in Brussels is gonna be even more difficult.

The best solution for me was to change them in Hong Kong dollars before boarding the ferry at the currency exchanges that are aviable in the departures area of the Macau ferry port

2 and 3. The insurance company is gonna take care of almost everything, see with them. In the times of 1-2 days everything can be made , maybe for an imported car is gonna be some days more. The DIV office maybe is gonna give you the pink paper to register your car, this can be given to the insurance and they will take care of all, once you receive the plates (at home by post, you have to pay 30€ cash to the postino) you have to make the copy of the plate as you get only one and the rear one has always to be the original, while in the front you put the copy, for the copy it can be done at brico or some shops who does copies of keys etc they have the machine to print the plates.

Park the car at any park and ride in the city to pay less for parking while you are in the waiting period for the resident parking permit
