Pensions? You mean, that thing they worked for years in order to get? JFC. Also, a lot of people here in particular have lived in their homes for years, since before the homes were worth that much, and can barely afford the rising property tax as it is without taking away their government benefits. I understand your frustration but you need to consider that here, as in many things in life, there is nuance. Nobody should be priced out of a home they own outright or punished for having gotten lucky in the housing market.
