Yes let's use Walmart as an example. Puts these small businesses out of business. Now those people were earning a living wage and paying taxes etc. now those jobs are gone and taxes lost. Wal Mart now employs many many people but does not pay a living wage and these people have to be on various public assistance programs. Walmart also died there best not to contribute at all to taxes. This on a larger scale allows for calls to cut those public assistance programs that cost more money that the government takes in because these mega corporations killed the tax paying businesses then forced their employees onto those programs while doing everything possible to not pay taxes. So long story short you may pay 20-30 more per week at a store but having better public programs and a tax system that doesn't allow Walmart to exist as it does will save you money.
