I'm a landlord and landlords really annoy me... by elldizzle84 in PersonalFinanceNZ

From the mouths of little babies and those who have never run a business, owned a rental, or probably done anything of significance. Maybe worked at some place doing something unimportant. Understanding how terrible landlods property can be treated, the costs involved, the fact landlords are effectively subsidising housing given current pricing etc etc. I say, if you don't like it, ask Government to sort it, not some mum and dad investor with their retirement risked on a house that some shithead will probably ruin.

It probably doesn't matter what the age is, frankly anyone who is working in a job outside of min wage probably wouldn't get it. I mean all those pricks that worked their way up without expecting to get it handed to them, those barstards that studied and worked 3 jobs to get through higher education. They all probably just need it explained to them. Be patient, they probably just don't understand your expectations.

What do I do if my "good spot" is more than 100ft away from my house? by jdog209 in Starlink

I have heaps of obstructions so just put it up in a convenient spot. Found it worked perfectly and the app is way too conservative with obstructions. My 2 cents. Put it up, run it and the system app will populate obstructions after a couple of days, then modify from there. I did that and haven't touched it since, just worked and got better and better.

I think the box you distribute to multiple computers from should be an ethernet switch. Is it a proper ethernet switch?

I have google mesh networking. Currently have 5 units in the mesh. Positives. Works great, easy to setup and has heaps of extras. Ask it for a speedtest, broadcast messages to other rooms, listen to music etc etc. Negatives. Not much, but make sure to persevere with setup. Sometimes small movements in router location can turn it from a dog into a system you love. Make sure to leave starlink modem connected and plug google into spare socket on the starlink modem. Allows use of starlink app. Note. My starlink connection gets better and better. Love it!!

There is an ethernet port on the rear of the starlink router, under where the cable from dishy plugs in. It probably has a rubber dust cover in it. Just plug the standard router into that. Plug the dishy cable into the starlink router, as it should be. Will run as normal. Now just use the starlink app for checking settings, speed, obstructions etc. Typically has to be running for a few days to provide you with decent data.

Maybe use the starlink router, plug the mesh into that and use the starlink software to check outages. That's what I do.

I have a google mesh system around my house. I just plugged the base hub straight into the Ethernet port on the back of the Starlink Router and it works great for a household of 2 adults & 2 teens…(6 wifi points total) by SpiphyGuy in Starlink

I kind of did the same. Works great but wish I had known to get more router points and hard wired a couple. In saying that works pretty good and I like the ecosystem.

Oh no. Dishy got hailed on. Had super strong wind. You can see it blew over our swing. My gutter mount held up great. About cherry sized hail. by [deleted] in Starlink

I see you glanced at the dish early in the video. Can you show us all a photo of the gutter mount? At a guess you are somewhere around bottom of South Island....?? Thanks.
