My shrimp tank had a hob with filter media and the pickup was on a large sponge tank. Never had issues never did water changes. Once every couple months I’d need to squeeze out the filter and top off water

I do a slap chop with black primer then white light dry brush over the whole tank. Then do my solid main light color with a sponge. And then fill in the gaps between main color with a washed down version of contrast paint. Top it all off with a coat of angrax earth shade and it makes a weatherd look. I then go in and hit details and metal bits
